As a teenager I’d never ever be allowed to do that, and I wouldn’t want to either. And I’m pretty sure there’s no reason to be there /that/ early in the first place.

Is the problem that both shows are sold out and the only hope they have of going is day seats? Or just bonkers fan girl stuff? I don’t get it, but then I don’t like queuing in Sainsburys so certainly wouldn’t loiter around Picadilly at 5am for this. I’d have just booked in time! I know some of this group have seats booked for the final show, so they’re not relying on day seats (like some may be) but they consider the day seats ‘their seats’ and so they’re trying their best to make sure no-one else gets first dibs! Whilst I can appreciate wanting to see the show from the front row if someone buys a day seat when they already have a ticket then unless they sell or give the other one away (which seems unlikely at such short notice) then this prevents someone else from seeing the show which seems unfair given it's sold out.

It's attention seeking.
They'll be tweeting constantly from the queue attempting to get noticed by the cast.

it ALMOST makes me want to get there at 4am, and stop the crazies getting there first, just to P!as them off!

Theatreboard outing to grab all the tickets for the show and then pass them on to the fans who genuinely want to see the show but were put off by the actions of a few. It can be our good deed for the week ha.

The girls involved have been posting on Twitter about the situation and they are HELLA salty. It’s obvious that it’s them but they’re claiming it isn’t.

I've just been reading some of the tweets.
It is exactly like the old days of Kerry Ellis at Wicked. Although instead of Pin Gate we now have Cupcake Gate!

What if they canceled the day seats for the final performance? Now, THAT would be fun. All those poor fangirls waiting in line from 5am, lmao.

Humpf, depends. My generation went out for the night, then instead of going home we got in line for whatever major concert was going on sale that morning at Wembley. Pre-internet, that's how you got concert tickets, mostly. If they went from club to box office line, fine. Bed to line - insert "lazy millennial slur here." . And before anyone kicks off, joke. OK. Joke. We used to sleep outside Wembley for tickets back in the day! If the staff were feeling generous, they sometimes let us stay just inside where it was slightly warmer and most definitely drier. And then when the McDonald’s opened, one of us would go down and get breakfast for e everyone 🙂

Let’s enjoy some refreshment until approximately 3.30am, then go and join the queue, buy the full compliment of tickets and hand the spares out to the homeless , whilst manspreading as wide as we can on that front row. We will ‘shush’ every unneccessary noise made and complain to the ushers constantly about the goddawful noise (in ‘I Will Never Shut Up Again’ 😂). We could even stake out the merch stands from tonight to make sure it’s all gone by Saturday mwahhahaha. (Twirls moustache gleefully)

They are probably the reason I never win the TodayTix lottery, I've tried so many times.

Reading that thread on twitter and it’s such a joy to see the crazy behaviour that puts the Wicked thread to shame!

"Those" fans are already camping out outside the haymarket. Pizza and duvets galore.

I can’t help but feel slightly responsible for this. TBFL and I spent til 2am getting wasted in Stringys then dragged ourselves away to put up my 6 berth frame tent outside the Haymarket. We attracted quite the crowd of street folk (that urn of hot chocolate/brandy really brought them in) and the queue now consists of us and 15 ex-forces types who keep muttering stuff like ‘what the f@ck is a heather?’, ‘what the f@ck is a scrunchie’ and ‘I’m not gonna get arrested am I with all these young girls here?’. We’re keeping him a arms length...very twitchy. Presume that the twitter hate has started already based on the number of arson attempts on the tent...

I made a mistake not seeing this when it was in TOP or earlier in the run so a few weeks back I checked my London availability and discovered I could only make today and bought a ticket, central row E.
I only watched the film last week and have listened to none of the songs. I imagine I will hate this as the audience will be screaming and whooping no doubt at things I don't understand.
Oh well. At least I'm seeing it. Thankfully at the matinee though so the hysteria won't be 'as' bad I hope.

Well that was an adventure in drama. I’ll miss this show for that!
Re: the tricks of day seating. That’s nothing the Globe stalwarts haven’t been doing for years, and that lot are shall we say, not teenagers. Ahem.

I’m sure that they use all sorts of medical issues to excuse leaving the queue for just a pearl clutching glance at Mr Rylance et al.

The Heathers fans kind of remind me of the Wicked fans, but on a much higher level. I mean come on, who else would slide cupcakes onto the stage? (Yes I am aware of Nutella-gate with Wicked but sliding stuff onstage is a whole other thing.) And the lying about dayseats is quite mean and petty. I’d dread to think what this lot are like in person.

Yes, you know Ryan, that time between the third and fourth bottle when you are just considering switching to brandy for the final stretch before thinking about calling your car round. Tsk. Brandy is a bedtime drink. Like cocoa and Horlicks. Amateur.

I know right, obviously the true fans were queuing at 19:31. It's almost inspiring, the level of commitment people have to stuff like this. If we can just nudge the enthusiasm towards international politics or the environment they might just be the saviours of us all...
