Drew Mconie’s choreography may have been a highlight of the West End version but for the rest of the dog’s breakfast he made, he should hang his head in shame. He allowed the heart of the beautiful Leeds version to be ripped out along with many fantastic actors who didn’t make it into London or who saw their roles evaporate. He then went stateside and made a pig’s ear of King Kong so you can safely bet it will be a while until a Producer wants to entrust him to direct another big musical. Hopefully this won’t happen as a friend of mine in a leading role said he wasn’t up to the task of directing and sticking to his vision. Well, he’s paid the price for that - back doing the choreography at the Park. He had a brilliant opportunity to make it big time on both sides of the Atlantic last year and blew it.

Tickets booked! Very pleased to get front stalls for £20 each with ATG card. Same here and my first ticket for 2021 booked for the Liverpool Empire. Really pleased with the ticket pricing for this. I was expecting to pay a lot more, even with the ATG card. £20 for front stalls is a real bargain.

Just noticed that Bromley is advertising this as:
"Featuring break-into-song numbers such as Love is in the Air, Perhaps Perhaps Perhaps and Time After Time, as well as several wonderful new songs by internationally acclaimed artists including Sia, David Foster and Eddie Perfect."
So, perhaps that means it's the WYP version?
I didn't end buying for Bromley but did pick up a ticket for Wimbledon, where there are some bargain prices with a Theatrecard on certain nights. I got side stalls near the front for £9.

Kevin was talking about the show on This Morning today, said how much the film meant to him and it is his dream role. He came across with such enthusiasm for it, I’m looking forward to his take on the role.

He came across with such enthusiasm for it, I’m looking forward to his take on the role. When he was partnered with Susan Calman on Strictly they did their Paso Doble to a number from SB, which Kevin had been asking the production team for years to do, and they finally let him do it with Susan! So I'm not surprised he's excited about going on tour with this!

Just noticed my rescheduled date for We Will Rock You in Wimbledon is the date I was meant to be seeing Strictly Ballroom there. There's no longer any mention of it on the website.
Have checked a few venues and it's pulled for all of ATG and many other venues. A few have slipped through the cracks, but I guess the entire tour is cancelled (or on extended postponement to avoid having to immediately refund tickets).

Well spotted Dr Tom I do hope the tour is just postponed rather than cancelled. Assuming there’s been no announcement because the venues are so busy dealing with refunds/ exchanges on shows that were scheduled for March/April so they’ve just quietly taken it off sale.

I didn't realise that Craig Revel Horwood was directing this! Kevin Clifton starring and the UK tour begins at Theatre Royal Plymouth next year. (obvs)

Kevin Clifton could have got at least another couple of series of Strictly Come Dancing under his belt before leaving to do this. Considering the Strictly Ballroom tour wasn't due to start for a good while, it's a shame it's been postponed so long again! Hopefully it gives them extra time to bring back the Leeds Playhouse version of the show and not the abomination they served up in the West End.

I’ve heard he potentially may be cropping up in London somewhere this Summer.

Did we know that Kevin Clifton's co-star will be Maisie Smith, with co-choregraphy by Jason Gilkison?
