It's worth having a nosey around Baz' twitter tonight I'd hazard a guess.

Baz also saying there will be a revamp of the show before it goes in. Drew is a busy man, with this and King Kong going on!

Yay? I'm sure its a fine show. It doesn't really appeal to me though, I don't think I'm its target audience. I'd never even heard of the film. So lets see how this one goes. Go watch the film! It's one of my all-time favourites and easily my favourite of Baz Luhrmann's films. Could not recommend it enough. I'm very excited to see this show.

Can't wait ..... seems Drew is the man of the moment. I can see why. Everything he touches turns to gold!

SB is going to open at the Piccadilly in the New Year a month or so after Annie closes. Run of ETAJ will be limited, and will allow for Tamsin to do both. Not true. Nothing is confirmed yet for the Piccadilly. Annie hoping to extend. Apology accepted Daniel. Can't wait for this.

Sorry nash16, reading back I realise I sounded quite blunt...allow me to explain What I was getting at at the time was that whilst SB was looking at the Picc, nothing was confirmed, and Annie did end up extending...but I'll let you have this one Agreed, I think it's gonna be great!

Oh well be quick, I cannot see this running or threatening Hamilton for th Olivier. It won't be eligible for this year. I just hope the cast of Annie found out they were finishing up in February before this went out.

Didn't The Girls begin in Leeds? And that was based on a movie too that was even more well known? Good god I hope we are not already looking a the next Girls! Whatever you do, don't cast Sophie Louise-Dann! 😅

Baz also saying there will be a revamp of the show before it goes in. Drew is a busy man, with this and King Kong going on! There needs to be. It wasn't quite the finished article in Leeds. Perhaps it won't survive the transfer to a proscenium theatre, but anyone booking stalls front row or aisle needs to be aware that there was good-natured audience participation.

This easily surpassed my expectations at West Yorkshire Playhouse so it's great to hear that a London run is confirmed. If you're unsure whether this is a show is for you, I felt the same before seeing it in Leeds and ended up being completely blown away!
Gemma Sutton was sublime as Fran so it would be great to see her cast in the lead role again, but failing that Zizi Strallen has commented in interviews and on social media in the past how it would be a dream part for her.
I really hope that they don't go down the stunt casting route for Fran because the heart and subtleties that Gemma invested in the character was what helped take the show above and beyond being just a great spectacle for me.
With some slight tweaking and positive reviews, I think this definitely has the potential to be a hit! It's a huge improvement on Annie.

Robbie Fairchild is leaving the NYCB to pursue other stage and screen roles. Think he'd be great as Scott in SB. #wishingandhoping

Jonny Labey has the look of Charlie Stemp about him. Will Young, on the other hand, just looks like he’s pleased he’s in it. Can’t say I’m overjoyed. And I already have my tickets...

From Baz’s full article: “Strictly begins previews at the Piccadilly from March 16, with a company that includes Eve Polycarpou, Michelle Bishop, Gabriela Garcia, Richard Grieve, Gary Watson, Charlotte Gooch, Liam Marcellino and Ivan De Freitas (some of whom were in the out-of-town run at WYP).“

Band leader? hmmm that sounds suspiciously similar to Emcee. are we to take it Will only has a limited range That said, i think i'll be going, i really liked the show in Leeds, love Zizi and despite the bitchiness above, quite like Will too.

Where does Baz get these photos for his tweets from? It's like he goes out of his way to select the worst photo he can find of people. The Will Young one looks like a photo fit of Will's face and Boris Johnson's hair.

I loved this show in Yorkshire. I can honestly say I’m truly heartbroken to think that they feel the need to create a new and unnecessary role for a z list celebrity to fill seats. This show was wonderful in my opinion and it left me buzzing for weeks after. Disappointed.

I'm surprised they've let Will anywhere near a show with the word 'Strictly' in it... Not a good omen.

This show was wonderful in my opinion and it left me buzzing for weeks after. Disappointed. I think it's a little harsh to call Will Young "a z list celebrity". Aside from a successful music career (all six studio albums reached either #1 or #2) he was also nominated for an Olivier award. While I don't for one minute suggest that this puts him on a par with Michael Ball or Imelda Staunton, it doesn't mean that he is z list either.
