It seems she's been offered another West End role, I wonder what it could be?

It would have to be a pretty big role if the tour was selling well as that would be fairly lucrative for her.
I'd assume that Chess wouldn't transfer to another venue as those runs tend to be limited but if Michael Ball was still with it then it would likely be very popular.

Maybe she's preparing to take over from Adrienne in Tina? No idea how long Adrienne is contracted for though

No idea how long Adrienne is contracted for though Assuming you have seen Tina then how do you equate Adrienne (great singer, dancer and average actress) with the Berk (one style belter, immobile trunk, unlikely to reach am-dram standard)? i’d pay to see it though for the one night before it closed.

Alexandra has a great voice and her dancing on Strictly was phenomenal. I do agree she'd fall short on the acting stakes though.

Ugh. Can you make your point without being so gratuitously unpleasant and nasty? I saw Alexandra in Chess and thought she more than held her own with seasoned performers. In my opinion, your comment is unfair and based on what I saw, just plain wrong. I may be stating the obvious but for an ‘immobile trunk’ she did pretty well to reach the Strictly final.

You need to learn how to make a point without being completely unnecessarily rude and patronising. Calling someone names and deliberately misusing and misspelling their name to be rude about them is never ok, and I'm astounded that you think it is. Everyone's entitled to their opinion, so respect that others think differently to you and disagree politely rather than coming across as rude and offensive. So next time someone posts an entirely reasonable comment that is entirely their opinion, which they are entitled to hold, try debating rather than insulting - it might get you a bit further. For what it's worth, I can't imagine Adrienne's contract is less than a year - she wasn't a name here when the show opened. Yes, she may well eventually take it back to Broadway but that seems to be early days yet. I think it's more likely that Alexandra has been offered a role in a touring show, though I do wonder whether the reason behind cancelling her tour is anxiety rather than anything else, as she's clearly struggled in the past. But of course it's entirely her prerogative not to give any further details.

I know how to make a point, whereas how to choose the emphasis would have been a more constructive criticism. The post was a question comparing the performance styles and the personal umbrage being taken assumes rather more intent than could reasonably be inferred. The misuse of names is rife both here and outside. The irony in “getting further” in the context of being patronising is remarkable.
I wish I had a pithy sign-off but as it’s Sunday let’s all hug and no touching below the waist.

In all fairness, some people could take your reply as being rather patronising too though. Or at the very least, condescending. "You need to learn.." especially. But then, I'm not Alexandra Burke's biggest fan either so what do I know?

Alexandra gets a tough time from the public and this board seems to be no exception. She is quite a marmite figure but the personalized tenor of some of the comments is quite mean spirited and cruel at times. I wonder if people would tolerate it if it was aimed elsewhere.
For what it’s worth, I like her energy and sense of humour and she’s been more than decent in the three productions I’ve seen her in. Her talent is undeniable. I agree that her acting is her weakest point but always she still gives it her all. I thought her turn as Svetlana was really very good/convincing and she deserves credit for doing something a little out of her comfort zone. I met her before a show in Dublin and she was sweet, charming and funny.
I look forward to hearing what her next role is.

Yes Alexandra was lovely when I mat her after Chess. She chatted away as if we were old friends.

Alex does come across as being a bit "affected" maybe almost a bit of a lovie type. But I've met her several times and she just does seem to be like that.
Some people do like her and some don't. Much as I like Alex, I always look forward to the cynical comments of the likes of Ryan as regards her as they are amusing and need to be taken in that context.

The “immobile” Alexandra...
I think not!
She’s also physically more like TT than Adrienne in both stature and looks. Whether she could sustain the physicality for 2.5 hrs though... who knows. Agree about the acting, it’s clunky. Other than that I like her. I just think she tries a bit too hard to be a personality sometimes. However compare her with another X winner Leona Lewis who doesn’t try at all, and look where her career is. 🚽

You show us Gorgeous Gorka mincing around with his tight black trousers and his shirt open to the navel and you expect us to look at his partner?
Insanity.

I do wonder how many people vote for celebs on Strictly when they have a hot partner.
I never looked at Ola's partners lets just say.

I always vote for Aljaz, Gorka and Kevin, and probably always will. They could give them each a fence post to dance with and I'd still vote for them 😍 I don't vote for proper talent until the visual talent has gone!

It's more likely her tour was cancelled due to low ticket sales. it's quite a standard excuse for that kind of thing She is being sought by Qdos for one of it's larger venues but I don't know if she has signed on or not Qdos would be for a panto presumably?

If it’s a larger venue, maybe Birmingham? A lot of the other big venues have been announced.

Birmingham is doing Peter Pan and it has yet to be announced who the main stars will be. But to find a suitable role for Alex in that wouldn't seem logical to me.

That’s what I thought but I know Michael Harrison directs that and he worked with Alex on the bodyguard. I’m sure they would just find a role like a mermaid and make it bigger. Lots of their venues have already been announced? Unless she’ll be Snow White at the palladium! I can’t see her doing panto though somehow

Alex in panto would likely be Princess, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Fair Godmother etc as they now seem to have moved away from women playing Aladdin etc. So casting her as Peter Pan in B'ham would seem unlikely. Mrs Darling/Mermaid is more a supporting role. Tiger Lilly isn't a huge role and she'd logically be too old for Wendy.

Birmingham (they could do a female hook) Manchester Glasgow Southampton Wimbledon Nottingham
have all yet to finalise all their star casting (you can usually tell a venue is done when the poster is on the qdos website)
I'm not sure she will sign on either but it's easy money for a month or so work

The Magical Mermaid must be a decent sized part at the Birmingham panto as they have cast Meera Syal.

Out of interest, have any of the professionals ever completely scoofed up in the live show? Yes, plenty of them have admitted to going wrong (some of them admit it immediately on the live show in case the judges are a bit more sympathetic to the celeb!) but they can usually cover it up.

Any hint of what her new role is? It could be the Bodyguard tour I guess.
