https://www.instagram.com/p/BP-q361hPtY She ain't going! Now in the programme which wouldn't happen if she was only here temporarily. Funny how she's placed before Karen too which means she is 95% chance to be 1st alternate...

Ahhhh I am so glad, of all the moments she could of got put into the programme it is at the same time as someone saying she was leaving!
And looks like the 1st alternate too, otherwise it would be alphabetical surely! Yes!

So, I saw the show on Wednesday matinee this week and caught the full cast as listed in the programme above.
I enjoyed it. I thought that it was fabulously staged, lit, costumed, choreographed and all the cast were on fire. Sweat was literally flying off the dancers - very tight execution of the choreography. Of the principles I especially liked Tyrone Huntley as CC and Adam J Bernard as Jimmy Early and Joe Aaron Reid as Curtis.
Amber Riley nearly blew the roof off the theatre! How she does that even 7 shows a week I will never know. Phenomenal!!!Plus for good measure a great stage presence with excellent comic timing.
However, and this is where I am going to be a little controversial..... I felt the show lacked light and shade and one full on number followed another - it was a bit relentless.
My other observation was that the show took belt singing to a whole new level. Not in a good way. There was an awful lot of yelling and screaming and of course the (dare I say) "X Factor type" audience that whoop and holler at every high note only encourages the performers to belt and scream louder and longer. It's hugely popular now I know, but less is more. Some numbers were just belted throughout! I am no expert in vocal technique but I would have thought that such belting could damage the voice...perhaps someone on here more qualified than I could comment?
So 4 stars for me and I wanted to give it 5.

Based on some tweets from audience members laet night, Marisha was on fire and got three huge standing ovations throughout! Seems like the excitable audiences will be around a while for this one.

Its a bit difficult to judge at the minute, as they have literally done them a couple of days so it is very new. But I imagine, once word gets out, it will be a 7/8am line up to see it! Also be aware it is only Monday to Friday, so no Saturday performances will have dayseats.

Well sorry to burst Joe's bubble who said it earlier, but Marisha just replied to my tweet, she isn't going anywhere just yet. Don't worry. My bubble is still floating high like Glinda's! Take care.

Not sure if I'm allowed to post this or not? However, seems like they are now putting in a cast board as you enter the theatre. Great! Always like seeing who's on and it's true what Joe Aaron Reid said - London should get a playbill where we see who is performing that day then you buy a programme if you want to. Also seems Candace Furbert is getting the chance as Lorell even tho Jocasta (1st cover) is in the ensemble- love it when producers do this and allow the 2nd cover on sometimes! Unlikely she'll get on as Effie so glad she is performing in a principal role

There has always been a cast list as you entered. Or at least there was when i went. On the screen as you go down the stairs. You can't miss it.

I've only got one or two and they aren't anywhere near where I can check.

Yeah I meant there's now a cast list in the foyer as you enter. It seems to be one of those placard ones where you see who is on in every role, understudy or not, which I like. Thought that was new?

I almost missed it because it was only shown momentarily between mostly trailers for other ATG shows. It was like 5% of the time cast list and 95% trailers.

I don't know, I read someone say how tickets were cheaper in London, so I wouldn't want prices to go up if they introduced Playbills. They're a good idea but some people still wouldn't care and wouldn't read them.

They're a good idea but some people still wouldn't care and wouldn't read them. I rather have London ticket prices and pay a few quid for a programme than Broadway prices and a free Playbill. Also, even the smaller programmes (compared to the glossy souvenir brochures) are more high-grade and comprehensive than Playbills.
