Looks like they're filming Strictly today according to Marisha's Instagram. She was dressed for One Night Only. I got the impression from Brennyns story that this was rehearsals, I could be wrong though. Yep, you're right! It was tech rehearsals

How does that work then? I know that when Claudia introduces the 'star turn' and everyone turns to look, they aren't really waiting down on the dancefloor, but they surely aren't going to film without an audience. Perhaps they'll be digitally added later? Sometimes an audience is brought in just to record a performance. They have done it before with Take That. That must cost an absolute fortune. I thought the Beeb were supposed to be pulling their horns in? And is anything on SCD real? I had a look at some YouTube clips of the arena show the other day, not really having taken an interest in it before. I was quite surprised at how big and extravagant the opening number was, but also at how coddy it was. Example being Kevin Clifton dancing around the perimeter of the arena floor frantically doing “MAKE SOME NOISE” gestures at the audience. Desperate and naff 👎. Then I looked at the prices to see how much people are paying for this and was shocked to see it’s £200+ to sit at the front 😖.

With 10 million viewers, it could be argued that the guest artistes, even Take That, need Strictly far more than Strictly needs them. Therefore, the guests should surely fit into Strictly's schedule, rather than the other way around.

I do feel sorry for Marisha. Her show has tanked. None of them have been sold out and a lot of seats are still available. Completely tanked this concert tbh. Even bringing Rachel and Tyrone hasn’t help her. She has done so much promotion for nothing.

The general public are not here for marisha sadly. Only the diehard fans will turn up. And app they can’t even fill up the theatre 😆

So weird that she is doing two concerts --- at 5 and 8 pm. Talk about spreading an already-vaporous fan base scarily thin .....

Did anyone manage to go to last nights show? Really interested in what the understudys are like, especially all being on at once!

Maybe it was a case of “Ruth got her own show so I’m having my own show too”. I wouldn’t be surprised. I think many of us have had the feeling there’s been quite a lot going on behind the scenes of this show. Divas though.... 🙄

Even being a Marisha fan, I can't even go anymore. But that's because of a broken foot, not because of her or the concert itself.

I'm heading down to London now for the 5pm concert. Sorry to see it's not more popular but I'm still really excited for it 😁

Looks like the 5pm sold better than the evening show which is going to be embarrassingly sparse. Hopefully they’ll move everyone to the front stalls and let her do it up close and personal.
Or like that Johnny Vegas anecdote where he turned up to play a venue and there were only 14 people in, so instead of doing the show he took everyone back to his hotel bar, got them pissed and ordered an Indian takeaway.

I'll give you two words for why the 5pm one sold better: Rachel Tucker.

Hope this concert is better than the Ruth Brown one which was cringe-making beyond belief. Truly.

Its worth noting though, that in fairness Ruth played in a smaller venue, was on some theatre fan radars because of the Dreamgirls curiosity and had a bit of familiarity from The Voice. Not much, but a little bit more than Marisha for the general public. That being said, by the sounds of it, it was clear from what has been said of that concert it was right for her to not be Effie.
