It's just that Ray Cooney farces used to be long term fixtures on Shaftesbury Avenue - Run for Your Wife played the Criterion for years. They have just gone out of fashion now, and the new breed of farceur taken over with the Mischief Theatre Company. I suppose he is a little sad and bitter about this.....
Out of Order (which is touring) played the Shaftesbury Theatre! No-one today would dare put a play in there. Donald Sinden and Michael Williams had a huge success with it. Now we have Barry from EastEnders. How times have changed!
