If anybody wants a break from the Brexit chaos, have a read of the responses posted on Twitter from an article in the NY times about people’s experiences of petty crime in London.

Started feeling a bit odd after lunch. Feeling worse now. Suspect the fish. Carrying a bucket around the house just in case.

Rain, wind, bitter cold, just what I ordered for trip to London to see lights and theatre. Small people looking decidedly unenthusiastic unsurprisingly.

Bought a new car. After bursting two tyres last week, the final straw was drawn on my 'cursed' Matiz. As luck would have it my garage where I take my car for MOT, generally begging 'make it not broken' had a KA for sale. My first two cars were KAs and I love them. So today I brought home my shiny blue KA, and sent the other one to the scrappy. Which is a fitting metaphor for 2018.

I sold my last car to webuyanycar.com, who gave me £120 for it. I looked up its MOT history recently and it appears that it didn't last long after I sold it. I suspect it became several other cars. Poor car. It served me well, until it cost me £1500 in two months and the leaking bodywork made the spare tyre go mouldy.
An ex-colleague sold his car to webuyanycar.com and got £50, which I believe is their "I know that's what we say, but come on" price.

Mine fetched a respectable £100 off the car I bought. Which given the amount it's been costing me in the last year, is better than a kick in the teeth. I just took the new one on a little spin to the supermarket and it is still delightful.

My cold was so bad I had a nosebleed today, but other than that, I think I'm finally seeing the light (and it's not death)!

Went home to America for the holidays and as usually the Dallas Airport was a mess but at least my flight went out of Heathrow before the IT meltdown.

Special request: if the company you work for is reasonably nice and not completely draconian, and if you wake up one morning thinking "I don't feel well at all", then it would be SUPER cool if you could just call in sick rather than deciding you'll *try* to struggle through, because you'll just end up going home mid-morning anyway, and you'll probably have infected all your co-workers during that brief period you're shivering, hacking, and giving it the old college try. I know we're shutting down over Christmas and you maybe want to make sure that everything's finished up, but it's been really quiet this week and your co-workers all do the same job as you and can definitely cover the quietest day of the year.
So if I come down with something in the next few days, I have at least three possible culprits I can point to.....

Spent £1.90, the cheapest I could find, on a train ticket I didn't use, and earned £10 in Nectar points.
Not quite revenge, but still very sweet!

There is a special place in Hell reserved for people who send stoopidly shaped Christmas cards that do not fit on my card holder thingy.
You know who you are...

Some weirdly stupid people in a car park today. I was parked on the lower of two levels next to the road that goes to the upper level, waiting to pull out. I had trouble leaving because of a long queue of cars looking for spaces, but even though I was creeping out slowly more cars than I could count were queueing bumper to bumper and refusing to let me pull out. Apparently they were so locked into the mindset of "must not let anyone into the queue" that it didn't occur to them that I was trying to get into the queue from a parking space that they could have taken.
I didn't get to leave until all the other cars had gone, leaving an empty space behind me. I usually get a warm and fuzzy feeling from seeing someone else's delight at finding a space when I leave it, but this time I got the warm-and-fuzzies from knowing that the people who had blocked me in were still trying to park as I left.

Duly noted, Tibidabo. Won't happen again. Have you had a chance to read my round robin yet? I'm sure you'll agree it's particularly interesting this year!

Round robins go straight in the bin at Tibidabo Towers ever since we got a month by month account of an anal fissure. So I hope there wasn't any money in yours...😬

Seems to be my afternoon for apologising. I thought Mini Tibs would find it interesting (the round robin that is).

For the second year running I've received a Christmas card from Australia. For the second year running it contains an awful round-robin letter detailing this plucky Australian family's battles with various flavours of adversity (a stillbirth, dementia, what sounds like a record-breaking case of haemorrhoids, and singing 'You Raise Me Up' in a choir concert). And for the second year running it's addressed to exactly my address - correct house number and postcode and everything - but to people I've never heard of, and it's also not for any of the neighbours. There is, of course, no return address.
And Mavis-in-Australia has a remarkable gift: she is probably one of the few people alive whose handwriting somehow manages to make the word 'trust' look like 'tw*t'.

You ever signed up to a charity, catalogue or bought anything from Aussie? Nice people to send again after you ignored them last year. 😂😂
