Fun fact: He's completely unknown in Germany. If you asked 100 Germans who Henning Wehn was, 100 would say "Who?". I only know him because I once saw him in QI. Wouldn't they be more likely to say "Wer?" . . ?

My day was amazing, because I managed to get a Day Ticket for Angels in America in July! Will have to switch my diet to baked beans for the next couple of weeks, but I don't mind !

I finally got round to adding an avatar. It's only taken about 15 months!

I unleashed the wrath of academics on twitter today before 9am. I'm kind of impressed with myself. Academics should not publish on twitter - it has not been subject to peer review.

I don't know, I'd argue that Twitter is subject to peer review, or at least general public arguement! On an unrelated subject, quoting my own tweet here as I thought it might amuse some people.

Trial by Twitter may be more rigorous, if less well-informed!

My neighbour claims that Benedict Cumberbatch has moved into the house opposite. Either my neighbour has been at the vodka or fame doesn't buy you a nice private mansion anymore....

I don't know who lives in the house opposite me. I spend hours sitting on the pavement with binoculars but the bastards keep closing their curtains.

I'm currently visiting my oldest daughter in Arizona US. They are so civilized here. They DON'T set clocks up or down. Ever. It's wonderful. I do have to keep track of how many hours someplace is ahead or behind us as it will change when everyone else sets clocks up/down.

Yesterday (working day aside) was productive and positive, got a copy of a book on Sherlock Holmes I wrote a chapter in, then had a final choir rehearsal before our concert on Thursday which was energetic and fun. Also the sun is shining for once, so take it while you can get it.

Tickets for Meltdown went on sale this morning , to be honest I think the line-up is a bit disappointing this year (wasn't much last year beyond Guy Garvey that I was interested in) and there wasn't much of interest to me , and as I think charging £50 for a ticket to see M.I.A. is being greedy, I won't be going to see anything there this year, but as a consolation, BFI tickets for May also went on sale this morning, got myself tickets to Adam & Paul (introduced by Michael Smiley) and Rita, Sue & Bob Too (followed by a cast re-union/Q&A) next month for the princely sum of £9 for the pair, so I am a happy bunny at the moment.

^Set up an abandonable Hotmail, or use a virtual address that only exists for as long as their window is open in your browser. Eh?.....Wha.......OOOH.......you're talking to me? Thanks Monkey, but seems to me you've reverted to the Gibbonish of your forefathers for all I understand of that. But I sincerely appreciate the suggestion and will lob it at a teenager when next I extricate one from its array of dangly wires......

10minutemail.com/10MinuteMail/index.html?dswid=-574Ten minute mail - I've been using it for years now for stuff that I won't be likely to use again that insists on e-mail address. You can get replies and can extend the time 10 mins at a time if necessary!

Thanks glossie - really nice of you to put that link in. I've sent it along to teenager's devices as it's still beyond my comprehension, but if she wants to go on my car insurance then she can sort it out! Really appreciate all the help and the possibility of a meerkat-free future.

Got to sort out car insurance and don't want to give my email address to stupid meerkats/opera singers who will spam me forevermore. Around 15 years ago I used a website to buy tickets to see a show in Antwerp. I haven't used the site since, yet they still send me emails every few weeks. At one time I thought about unsubscribing but now I want to see how much longer they'll keep doing it. What's more ridiculous is a shoe seller that I once bought a special type of shoe polish from is still sending me physical catalogues, the cost of which has far exceeded the value of the tiny order I placed with them several years ago.

And maybe now is the right time to apologise to the person who has the phone number one digit away from mine, that I give to every single website that insists on my filling in that particular box.

There is someone who lives in North Carolina in the US (I'm mostly in Rhode Island) anyway, it is a long way from where I live. We have the same email address except she puts her middle initial in hers. I am forever getting her emails ranging from school events for her children to doctors appointment reminders. I know WAY too much about this person and their life. She must work for a bank as I even was sent some interoffice emails that a co-worker of hers forwarded to her (well, ended up being to me) that was about customer accounts ! Just lately I know she has investigated Botox, one of her kids is going on a field trip soon and her yearly dental exam is due soon.

Just lately I know she has investigated Botox, one of her kids is going on a field trip soon and her yearly dental exam is due soon. Too funny!!! Does she get your things?? I doubt it. In order for that to happen someone would have to insert the correct letter of her middle name between my first and last name. That's a lot harder than just leaving her middle initial out like they seem to love to do. ETA - When it looks like it might be important I either reply and give them the correct email address or I just forward to her. I did get sick of it once and filled out, rather rudely, a survey that had been mistakenly sent to me.
