It's that time of year again. The show is on BBC 2 on Friday at 7.30pm. This year we have 6 X Factor rejects to choose from. The link below will take you to the BBC website where you can hear all 6 potential songs to take us to the Ukraine. None of them are great and there are some terrible lyrics and rhymes, but after just 1 listen, my vote will probably go to Danyl Johnson. I like Lucie Jones' song, but the lyrics are awful. Still, if Ukraine can win with what they sang last year, maybe we will have a chance. Who gets your vote? www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p04qg88c

I don't ever listen to Eurovision songs in advance. I like to hear them for the first time on the night.

They are all really weak songs. I looking at the composers, I suspect that Lucie's song will get the most support - as it is co-written by a former Eurovision winner from Denmark. But as songs go, I was expecting it to build to something, to have a gear change moment - but no, it was very samey from opening bars to the end.
Whichever of these songs gets the nod, we are going to be heading towards the bottom half of the right hand side of the board - again.

We will never ever stand a chance. We could submit the greatest song in the history of music, and everyone else will still vote for their mates, but the goodwill votes we've had in the past are going to be thoroughly negated by our politics. Just another thing the Brexiteers will have completely ruined.

This one sounds a bit like Beyonce's Halo.

Lucia was great but her song was too musical theatre for eurovision

This one sounds like previous entries but I like it.

That definitely sounded like alot of recent eurovision songs, but they have never done well in the competition

I thought his vocal was a bit dodgy in places I have to say. The song was only OK.

This final one just screechy - very painful. She doesn't have the pipes for a song of that size

Bring back the live orchestra... Every song sounds the same.
Song number 5 please. But consider giving it a different sound.
That C C woman is unbearable. Bruno should stick to Strictly. Sophie E B is talking the most sense.
Mel, I like you better on Bake Off. Or The Sound Of Music.

None of these will stand a chance. Not even close.
Irrespective of politics, none of these are stand out songs.

I liked (and voted) for the first song - really disliked the rest. Won't win with any of them though.

I voted Lucie - but the song needs a gear change to make it really have impact

When we have these sort of 'You Decide' programmes I feel we're trying too hard to copy previous winners a bit too much. When they won, they were original and new; trying to emulate that the year after is just stupid.

Ah - Love Love Peace Peace - the best Eurovision song in years. Can we enter that one instead? Please!

Will she be able to get time off from Rent to tour Europe promoting the song?

Wow. Shocked by that. She can sing but that song sounded like it was cut from Ghost. And cut with good reason.
I presume the Rent tour is ended by then?

This was one of my least favourites - just a bit dull. However, the voice alone could win us a few points.

I just said the exact same thing - it could easily be from Ghost. She needs to be all over Europe for the next 4 months - appearing at as many national finals and on local media as much as she can. You have to network to build awareness of the song. I guess that is why we have done this earlier in the year than normal - to give us promotion time.

I wonder how many of those Eurovision events she will go to, given her current day job.
She looked pretty shocked
