Tour of Billy Elliot is coming into town as a filler Big Strictly Ballroom Groundhog Day Young Frankenstein all looking for West End theatres
Theatres available Palladium (between Wind in the Willows and Panto 2017) Aldwych and Adelphi if current shows are not extended Piccadilly now that Finding Neverland has been postponed/delayed/cancelled Dominion if the rumours of American in Paris having a small advance are true

I would rather like Dear Evan Hansen to come over but i rather doubt a show like that would survive or even attempt to come over here. Isn't it a shame that a lot of the most exciting shows are in New York and probably would never even look at coming over. Meanwhile Thriller enters it's 100th year.

Do you know if Big is lookin for a transfer too? I thought that Strictly Ballroom; GD, Big and YF would be looking for a transfer but surprised Billy Elliot is returning for a filler. Talking of UK torus, I really hope Mary Poppins returns to London for a filler or limited season? It hasn't visited any London venues on tour. Also I think Drury Lane could be free towards the end of the year if rumours if 42nd Street having a small advance are true

I don't know, it seems to me that most Broadway shows turn up here sooner or later. The only one that had quite some buzz in New York and really didn't make it here was Next to Normal and apparently this was a special case to do with the rights. Even shows like In the Heights that seemed an odd choice for a transfer, given its setting and music style, made it across the pond as did something as innovative and interesting as Here Lies Love. Considering the good buzz Evan Hansen is getting on Broadway and that it's not a "big" expensive show to do, I am sure it will turn up here sooner or later, if not straight to the West End then perhaps to one of the smaller venues like Menier or Southwark. IIRC Something Rotten was always meant to come to London, so I hope this will happen as I purposely did not see it in New York, thinking I could see it on this side of the pond. Would love for Colour Purple and Groundhog Day to return as I missed their limited runs. And would love to have Josh Groban come over with Comet (thanks @emicardiff for that thought not letting go now!). Young Frankenstein and its outdated lame humour I can do without.

What was the last one, Spring Awakening? I still regret that I wasn't able to catch Spring Awakening in London considering it launched the careers of Iwan Rheon and Aneurin Bernard. I wonder if the slightly bizarre staging worked against it? I think for the last years Broadway has always had "the little musical that could" per season - one show that was fairly small (in terms of cast, sets, etc.) and wasn't your mainstream fare in terms of plot and music and which would inevitably become the critics' darling and win a bunch of Tonys: Spring Awakening, Once, Next to Normal, Fun Home and this year apparently Evan Hansen. New Yorkers don't seem to mind paying fantastic prices for these small-ish shows (although none of them ran longer than 2-3 years) whereas Londoners seem more sceptic when such small shows arrive at normal West End prices. I think it wouldn't hurt these smaller shows if they'd open in a smaller venue like the Menier or Southwark at correspondingly lower prices (or at the National Theatre like Here Lies Love did) to test the waters in London. If the audience doesn't accept it, it will close after the limited run and no loss of face incurs (and genuine musical fans got a chance to see them) and if they become a big success, they can transfer to the West End with its higher prices amid all the good buzz.

Nothing will go into the Palladium between WITW and panto as Wind is booked in right through to panto (not announced yet though as they can pretend it's extending due to 'demand')
I fully predict the Dominion and Drury Lane to be back on the market by the summer. Neither An American in Paris or 42nd Street are going to run.

I like how they have been using the palladium for variety and now panto now and is probably a more smarter move money wise too than having a musical run there open ended. Yeah I think 42nd Street will not have a very long run as I've heard the advance isn't very good. Haven't heard anything on An American in Paris though. Mary Poppins could easily be brought in as a replacement to 42nd Street if it does flop

I'd imagine Kinky Boots will end by the end of 2017/beginning of 2018 anyway. Sadly, it must be said, but I imagine it will outlive alot of peoples 18-24 month prediction by a few months. Just because a show is confirmed for the Adelphi, said show may not come in until even 2018, we don't know that! Lets not forget, Made in Dagenham was contracted into the theatre a couple of years in advance of it actually opening, and The Bodyguard only closed a month before it opened, so it doesn't mean Kinky Boots is going to close tomorrow.

I also read somewhere that The Bodyguard were looking to transfer to the Aldwych when their contract with the Adelphi had finished, before Beautiful announced its transfer. However, the theatre was too small for the show technically so they went on tour instead. It is a brilliant show in my opinion!! It'll be sad to see Kinky Boots leave the West End but I guess it has done well

I don't believe kinky boots has been given it's marching orders. I know 2 shows who were after the Adelphi and both told Kinky was still playing above its break so wasn't going anywhere.
