That rains why there was nothing if you were further back in the queue. So all other front cheap seats went on sale for members? I got some front row tickets through entry pass and there was a fair bit of availability, so not for all members.

Ahh I did wonder about Friday rush but have only ever been offered seats much further back so worth knowing they do potentially exist.

Failed at securing any entry pass tickets on Wednesday but I did manage to pick up a £15 ticket for Translations when public booking opened. Holding out for returns/friday rush for Julie.

Interesting to see the stick Rufus Norris gets in light of how progressively more difficult it is to get tickets for the National on an ad hoc basis, the launch day lottery and queue slot is becoming the Theatre equivalent of the last few minutes of an eBay auction for everything outside the Olivier.
Who’d have thought the National becoming par with the Donmar for ticket availability.

Ahh I did wonder about Friday rush but have only ever been offered seats much further back so worth knowing they do potentially exist. First time I did Friday Rush I was given a circle seat, about 3 rows from the back of the Lyttelton. It was atrocious. I felt so far away from the action, plus I missed bits of dialogue thanks to a mixture of poor sound, the distance from the stage, and audience chatter, and I've been put off FR ever since. But seeing all these reports of people grabbing front row seats etc has me curious to attempt it again. (The NT doesn't like me buying more than 2 Entry Pass tickets if it's for the same production so I'm considering the FR route.) (I will admit though I was in a hurry the day I bought it and thought I should just accept the first ticket offered me or else I wouldn't get one at all.)

The additional talks are now up (e.g. Sam Mendes & Ben Power discussing Lehman Trilogy on Sep 13th www.nationaltheatre.org.uk/tickets/12007 ), so presumably the remaining of the performances can't be too far away. For those in the know, does the fact that a transfer of Network to Broadway the West End wasn't announced to capitalise off Bryan Cranston's win make it less likely to happen?

Who’d have thought the National becoming par with the Donmar for ticket availability. It’s easy to get tickets for the Donmar, it was only really difficult when Grandage was in charge. Also your qualification “outside the Olivier” is quite a big one. When I was at the Tabard the other night I overheard a group of other theatregoers discussing that Times article and saying Norris was talking nonsense (well, not quite the word they used) He has certainly managed to alienate a section of the NT audience in a way none of his predecessors managed.

The British shows that "win" Oliviers are normally awarded to assist finance towards a Broadway transfer, so I wouldn't count that out yet. Definitely not a West End one though.

Does anyone know when tickets for 'Hello, I'm Darling' are going on sale. It is meant to start in July!

Home, I'm Darling. It's the Dorfman and they seem to have their own rules about opening booking, but as it's starting in July, I'd presume it'll be on sale by the end of this month. An Octoroon opened booking less than three months in advance, so depending on when in July it's opening, there's still some leeway before they're leaving it unreasonably late.

I’m looking forward to this. Wade is a fantastic writer.

^ Just keep your fingers crossed that Ian Rickson doesn’t drop out only for Joe Hill-Gibbins to step in...

Looks like they are back on form and very happy about the NT loves as will definitely go and see George iii and glad King Lear will be available for lots of people to see. A nice mix as well of a classic, returning musica, new play and new musical,

So presumably Amex will be the 17th at lunchtime (or maybe the 16th), you usually get a bit of a jump on the public booking.
