I think the only reason Wicked cast changes work so well is that there seems to always be loads of Board people at these shows, and as said there were non-Wicked people with us yesterday - but yeah, more than happy to mix things up next time

There might be people who would prefer a quieter venue and/or somewhere not bar/pub-based, but still with access to food and drink for those who wish. Which is why I suggested the NT foyer, as that's quite accessible by public transport and has easy access to places where people might have attended a matinee or be going onto for an evening performance, e.g. the NT itself, Vics Old and Young, Union Theatre, South Bank complex, West End (just across the bridge) and so on.

Perhaps we should try and work out when the largest number of non-Londoners are in town to have the next meet although that might be a bit complicated. Of course the next meet doesn't actually have to be in London . . . Maybe the weekend of West End Live would be a date when a decent number of us are likely to be around?

Angels In America double show Saturdays might be a good time to try for something at the National?

I think the NT foyer is a great idea - there's plenty of space there, it's well located, people can get food/drink if they want.

Really? The National foyer has always struck me as utterly lacking in atmosphere. For an interval drink it's fine as there is so much space but other than that it doesn't have much going for it.
It also brings theatre bar prices along with it.

Just in case someone already recovers from last weekend's meeting before mid-March I would suggest Saturday March 18 or 25. I could even bring some Russian vodka if you ask nicely

Also, although sadly it's looking less and less likely that I'll be there, there'll be a few people from this board in Bochum around the 28th of March, won't there?

Just a note of warning that if u meet on 25th March there is a anti (?) BREXIT march (in March, how clever of them) so may be a bit disruptive (I'm going so it will be)

(Or we could join in and change the lyrics of popular musical theatre songs to suit the march.) Defying Democracy (just kidding) EU're The One That I Want A Whole EU World

To the suggestion of the meet up not being in London, surely London is the best place because alot of the members are based in or around London, alot of the members travel regularly to London for shows anyway and it gives more option for matinee and/or evening shows before and after... ... that being said, if TheatreBoard wanna pay for us all to go to Amsterdam or Spain for a meet up, I'm here for it.

If it's in Spain count me in.
And I loved Amsterdam. Especially the coffeeshops.

Both could happen without affecting the other.

But of course, people can meet up whenever. I'm sure some even meet without even mentioning it on here.

London's the easiest for me unless there's a special event on in Watford and people want to meet there haha.

I know a lot of people are at the 29th Angels double show, so something should be organised then.
It would be nice to have more meet ups like that Wicked one throughout the year and away from the Apollo Vic. Problem if they are all on Wicked big performances is that if anyone else wants to come it isn't always that easy to get across town and back if you're seeing a matinee and evening show not of the witchy variety.

Also as some of us are quite spread about the country (like literally a plane journey over water) makes it a bit difficult. So obviously not everyone is going to make it to every meet up. Which is why Wicked cast change on Saturday night was a good attempt for the first meet up, as quite a few of us were going to the show anyway, while others stayed behind in the bar to hang out and we met up with them again after the show...which was interesting, even a nice little rendition of Tomorrow from Annie right in the middle of Whetherspoons by Sam if I remember correctly.
Also Im up for meeting again around June time if anyones up for it (mostly likely second weekend around the 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th). I know its 5 months away, but its good to be organised.

This was my issue last Saturday. On the other hand, all credit to those who did arrange the get-together and who made it happen, and no reason why Wicked/Victoria-based meet-ups can't continue; those of us who need a more central location just need to organise it. We've seen it can be done... "Maybe the weekend of West End Live would be a date when a decent number of us are likely to be around?" Maybe indeed, so stevejohnson678, for those who haven't a clue about this, could you say when it is, please?
