The Lyric Hammersmith panto is always a delight, I'd strongly recommend that or the Hackney Empire. I went to a Qdos pantomime last year, and it was extremely soulless and glossy, so be careful if you decide to go for one of the ones that makes a big fuss about its famous cast members.

I love panto but I have to say that generally I do find QDos pantos "soulless and glossy". They are lavish and very slick - almost too slick where the show has no room to "breathe" as the running time is everything so as to get the next house in and give the performers the required break between shows. I always imagine the ASM with a stop watch in the corner and berating the performers if they finish 47 seconds slower than the previous night but praising them for "knocking 1 minute and 4 seconds" off the running time this afternoon. It's all pace pace pace, with the ad libs anything but. Only 2 "oh no it isn't" not one more allowed!!
