Don't disagree entirely but at the same time, I don't follow many of my close friends on Twitter, that's because they're close friends and I speak to them in real life. Just because I don't have them on Twitter it doesn't mean I'm not close, it seems a weird connection to make

Neither of them follow each other on Twitter either despite the fact that Natasha follows nearly 500 people and Sheridan over 1000. Doesn't mean that they're enemies but certainly indicates that they're not very close friends. Anyway, either way, I don't blame Natasha for stating otherwise. At this point, the show needs to present a clean cut, polished image after all the bad press. Sheridan doesn't follow Natasha on Twitter?!?! Sheridan even follows me, really surprised she wouldn't follow her understudy!

What on EARTH is this obsession several people have with the idea that if Sheridan is well enough to be on Twitter, she's well enough to be at work? There's a HUGE difference in exertion levels between "work" and "internet", it's odd to assume that if you're not at work then you should be lying prone on a daybed and not doing ANYTHING AT ALL. No books, no TV, no internet, NOTHING. Besides, according to reports on this thread, she IS having a break from Twitter (sensible but by no means compulsory), so it's even weirder that people keep bringing up the idea that she shouldn't be on Twitter right now. Newsflash: she's not!

Just because I don't have them on Twitter it doesn't mean I'm not close, it seems a weird connection to make I wouldn't say it's a weird connection, I think you're probably in the minority with not following your close friends on Twitter. Sheridan and Natasha follow other people they've work(ed) with so it just seems a little strange. Twitter doesn't prove anything but when looked at with other stuff it does seem odd.

I don't follow any of my RL friends on Twitter either - I don't need to, as they're on Facebook. Lots of people use different social media sites for different friends.
I do think that people can become way overzealous with analysing people's Twitter activity. I've seen any number of people get excited when a celeb they're fans of favourited their tweet or followed them, only to come down to earth with a bump a couple of days later when it gets un-favourited/un-followed. People accidentally favourite and follow, block when they meant to mute, etc, all the damn time, because fingers are clumsy. No to mention that sometimes Twitter seems to do things all by itself!
In any case, everyone's entitled to decide they don't want to see someone's tweets, even if they were not being abusive - sometimes ppl are just annoying!

Well, famous people like Sheridan often don't use Facebook at all. As I said though, I'm not trying to claim it's definitive proof of anything, but it adds to the other stuff.

I wonder if Heather Headley wanted to come back to the UK (despite or because of The Bodyguard). She's played Fanny Brice before:

Sometimes they use Facebook under a pseudonym. Not that it matters - I was merely pointing out that the assumption about Twitter usage could be wrong, because not everyone uses it the same way. Trying to deduct how someone feels based on who they follow on Twitter is a mug's game.

It could be wrong or it could be right. There are people in this thread that are saying there's no reason to believe that the two aren't close friends and I disagree as there are signs, but people can believe what they want and either way I really don't care haha. I hope they are friends! I just doubt it.
Also, I'm not a mug, but thanks for that.

One of you is hoping that the other falls down and breaks a hip so you can go on, the other hopes that you're so rubbish everyone won't be able to wait until you get back.

Agreed, it's always an interesting relationship and is probably only made more weird with this specific show and all that has come of it. I can believe that they're polite and civil but not that they're 'friends' as Natasha says in the article. And yes glad to not have Shenton's face anywhere near mine.

I get on well with my work colleagues, but frankly wouldn't add most of them on social media with a barge pole (so to speak).

They both follow other work colleagues though, but yeah this discussion is getting pointless now.

I think we can all conclude we don't have a psychic link to Sheridan Smith's brain, therefore wondering why she does and doesn't follow particular people on Twitter is redundant and boring.

I wonder if Heather Headley wanted to come back to the UK (despite or because of The Bodyguard). She's played Fanny Brice before: This is a production in high school, easily over 25 years ago! She aged well. Also kind of crazy how the singing and costumes in high school is better than Sheridan's on the West End.

^ There are some shockingly amazing high school productions in the US. I remember watching a HS production of Phantom on YouTube. It's crazy these schools get these budgets (let alone talent!).

I think some posters need to follow their own advice to Sheridan and get off Twitter (or at least stop obsessing about her account). I honestly find it disturbing the way some are treating a personal tragedy in SS's life and her failure to cope with it as some sort of entertainment (let alone the nasty, judgemental comments about her personality from people who are basing their invective on knowing the square root of eff all about what she's like in real life, what she's like to work with, how she treats people who are rude to her face etc.etc. {HINT: the Internet is not real life.}
Still I suppose as the saying goes,: 'Opinions are like arseholes...' (I.e. some stink more than others!) ;-)
