Natasha Barnes was on the BBC Radio Two breakfast show this morning talking about the life of an under study (two hours in if you want to listen on I player).
Also she said she has 8 shows left which suggests Sheridan is planning to be back a week today.

Was there? As soon as they announced the Savoy run, we booked straight away though. Hope in 6 weeks she'll be back! Yeah, some extra tickets found their way onto the Menier site, and if you were lucky (like me), you searched around midday and found a front row seat for the day after, which just so happened to be New Years Eve! But glad you have tickets in whatever capacity! Ditto - bought 2 seats for my birthday (being a Sunday and was very happy to have a performance actually on my birthday), then got one single seat for preview, then bought another for New Years Eve, had my kid say he was going to spend New Years Eve with me and got another seat next to me, then impulse bought last night (which had Natasha). For my OMG panic need to buy, managed to get another 4 in.

Given her fondness for a slurp of the red, Elaine may be the ideal person to give advice...

Yes, EP enjoys a drink - but she was also performing in King&I when her mother had cancer so would have first hand knowledge of how difficult the situation can be, not to mention having treatment herself when in Sunset. I just hope Sheridan takes all the time she needs to recover, her real fans will still be there at the other end without complaining about however long it takes.

I think I've lost track of all this. What exactly is Sheridan "recovering from"? I thought she'd just been using drink allegedly to cope with nerves?

I think I've lost track of all this. What exactly is Sheridan "recovering from"? I thought she'd just been using drink allegedly to cope with nerves? It all just got too much for her to handle. With her father going through cancer, feeling that everyone is laughing at her after 'that incident', being featured in the press every day with people slamming her down and having to do 8 shows a week, it was just all too much. I assume herself and the producers decided that she could do with a break.

The official word is that she is taking a 2-4 week leave of absence due to stress and exhaustion. Anything else - including supposed alcohol issues - is the "allegedly".

Anybody got an idea when she'll be back? Presume it'll be the 9th June as that's 4 weeks from the announcement but could be just before/after?

George, you're just going to have to be patient. I'm sure if anyone has an idea, it'll be on here sharpish.

As soon as it's announced someone will post it on here but Sheridan/the producers have left it fairly open because they don't know. It could be that she's fine after 2 weeks. It could get to 4 and they decide between them that she needs 6

I have a free evening next week and am very tempted to go along to see Natasha, if she is still on then.
I know this is everyone's least favourite question (sorry) but what time do I need to get to the theatre to gave a chance of a midweek dayseat?

I went this morning hoping that on a Monday I could turn up pretty late. I got there at 9:35 and there were 9 people in the queue. Luckily only a couple of them were getting two seats so I did get a seat but it was closer than I was expecting. As to what it'll be like mid-week I don't know and what time the first people got there I don't know either, sorry but that's probably not that much help!

I saw Funny Girl on Friday. I already knew the rough storyline, but (surprisingly) had not seen the film. So I was interested in the musical for its own sake, although Sheridan was also a draw as I’ve never seen her before. But hopefully there will be a chance to see her in something in the future, as I have heard many good things about her talents.
As a show, I enjoyed the first act, and also the last 20 minutes of the second act, the most. I thought the first half of Act 2 was weaker (in terms of the musical itself). There were also a few times in the first half of Act 2 where I felt conscious that this was originally produced for a smaller theatre. I could see why some people don’t think Funny Girl is a particularly great musical, but I still really enjoyed it and was emotionally moved by this production, especially ‘People’.
I thought Natasha was very good. The theatre was absolutely packed; I couldn’t see a single spare seat in the stalls, so it doesn’t look like many people are choosing to exchange their tickets. The audience was very supportive to her and the rest of the cast right from the start. The atmosphere was lovely and I had a great night.
