Has anyone tried asking for a refund? What are they saying?

Ive seen Natasha perform the role at the Menier and she is great. Excellent singing voice and good actress but no one can match Sheridan for comedy acting. I do believe that given rest and the help she needs Sheridan will be back in a few weeks on top form. We just need to press to leave her alone and move onto another story and Sheridan love.... Keep off Twitter! Im due go again mid June so really hope she is back then.

Maybe Emma Williams would consent to put some clothes on and take the role? Needs to be a household name though really. Yes I agree it would have to be a household name.

Does anybody think that Sheridan will be back for middle of June?

The Telegraph have re-reviewed it with Natasha and have given it 5 stars (behind paywall) www.telegraph.co.uk/theatre/what-to-see/natasha-j-barnes-is-every-bit-as-good-as-sheridan-smith-in-funny/A couple of quotes: "The upside of Smith’s no-show is the discovery of Barnes. The 25 year-old isn’t just a serviceable stand-in, she’s a sensation in her own right." "it has to be said that the understudy is every bit as good as the actress she’s temporarily replacing." "Barnes displays all the necessary comic timing and finesse: a sly, sideways delivery, quizzical eyebrows, a determined jaw, the puckish ‘funny face’ that makes Brice stick out" "She has a radiant charisma and twinkling mischief that’s irresistible. She can belt out the big showstoppers like she’s been doing them for years, but in the closing stages reveals a quiet, trembling vulnerability as the man in her life, Darius Campbell’s handsome gambler Nick Arnstein, drifts further away. " A star is born?

It's a tough business the business of show. It is true what they say "the show must go on" and it does.
Sheridan will no doubt be aware of these reviews of Natasha and will either be back on stage this week or have a relapse!

Wow..looking at these pictures was a reminder how ugly and unflattering the entire aesthetic of the show was..What were they thinking with these costumes? How is this playing on the West End in such a pretty theatre? Funny Girl is supposed to be fabulous..

I disagree, I don't thibk funny girl should be 'fabulous ', it's not priscilla or some other glittery or glamorous show. The costumes are truer to the setting and story of the show. Although granted it still doesn't look great here

I wonder if Sheridan has impacted on the other cast members, maybe it has been very hard for them too. I haven't noticed her and Darius together after a performance at all and I haven't seen much support from the cast in way of wishing her well, offering support. Maybe it's been a tough time for them as well. Darius and Sheridan have come out together the last couple of times I went Wow..looking at these pictures was a reminder how ugly and unflattering the entire aesthetic of the show was..What were they thinking with these costumes? How is this playing on the West End in such a pretty theatre? Funny Girl is supposed to be fabulous.. Sheridan used to wear this dress as well but they've changed hers for the Savoy to a much nicer one, shame they didn't do Natasha's as well

I don't know enough about the show to know whether it should look fabulous or not, but I do agree that the costumes look cheap and nasty. But then quite a few of the Menier shows have had an overall cheap look about them recently. I've put that down to them spending more on the performers than on the production.

How great would it be to see both Sheridan and Natasha nominated at the Oliviers for the same role!

How great would it be to see both Sheridan and Natasha nominated at the Oliviers for the same role! Fabulous! And then Natasha wins. And Sheridan goes all Jonathan Pryce on her ass like it's My Fair Lady all over again. And then as Natasha begins her speech, Sheridan launches across the stage shouting "my award bee-yatch" and yanks it out of Natasha's hands. Then Natasha gives it all the finger snapping "don't diss me girlfriend if you couldn't be bothered to turn up, you snooze you lose". To which Sheridan challenges her to a contest as to who gives the best 'Don't Rain On My Parade' in some huge Fanny-off. Miss Michael Ball then breaks up the fight and ends up with a black eye and a bruised groin. Screen goes black and switches to an ad break as you can hear Miss Ball crying, Glenda Jackson shouting "Get them off this effing stage. It's my award next!" and Natasha screaming "My Fanny is better than yours!!". Too much?

A few really do need to get a better understanding of mental health issues, sadly seen as not really unwell by some. Put simply, if you saw the words stress and exhaustion and thought it worthy of writing or thinking something negative then you are part of the problem. You would have thought the recent focus on mental issues would have had more of an effect. Even now there are those going on about how Smith must be upset at Barnes getting good reviews or that the others in the cast must dislike her because of the situation, showing a worrying lack of understanding.
Stress, exhaustion, depression etc. are real and anyone even vaguely following the story can see how Smith has been suffering from something such as this. If anyone I it's think the producers who have questions to answer, what sort of contract exists and how is it being enforced or not?
