I hope she deletes her twitter and actually does take a break if she is unwell.

Yes this does seem to prove that the technical difficulties were a lie, which I think most of us suspected.
I don't think it will effect the West End though. Unless they're Sheridan's no.1 fan, Natasha will win people round by the end of her performance. Maybe people will start to realize the talent that's in West End theatre even without the star names!

Sheridan has said numerous times she actually doesn't have a contract with Sonia Freidman Ltd..

I agree that they should've had an alternate or even had two actresses share the role equally. However, the problem is, I can't think of any other actress who would be as big a draw as Sheridan (who is around the same age etc.).

I'm sure Lea Michele would chomp at the bit to come over here and do it and she would definitely sell tickets, but I don't think the people that want to see her would be the same people that wanted to see Sheridan...

Just had an email from ATG with that press release and saying it may possibly affect the performance I've booked. NO mention of the possibility of exchanging or refunding if I'm unhappy with seeing an understudy. What a crock of sh*t. Not impressed.

Hope she gets the help she needs...it has been clear for quite some time that this was coming. Sad to see such a great talent throwing it all away.

If she has this time off to 'rest' and continues to use Twitter I will be appalled at all of them.. The producers, Sheridan and her management. It will make a mockery of the whole situation and the swathes of disappointed theatregoers. I hope she deletes her twitter and actually does take a break if she is unwell.

Maybe we should start the I-Told-You-So Club. Guests welcome who fancy a serving their own words...

Next Saturday What date were you booked for? That's a silly email from them; going by their statement, it sounds almost certain it will affect your performance.

The fact they emailing people to tell them of the change yet not giving refunds or exchanges is a bit wrong. They admitting it's a major change to the show by doing that. Be best just to treat it as something that happens. If one of the leads in showboat was off for a extended period I wouldn't expect an email.

Is there a 2nd cover for Fanny Brice? Good question. I would hope so. I also hope that Natasha has a good agent too. Not that I know alot about this but I thought understudies only got paid a minimal amount for actually going on and performing the role. In this case she is certainly saving the show especially if there is not a 2nd cover?

That's a silly email from them; going by their statement, it sounds almost certain it will affect your performance. I received the same email and am going tomorrow! So it IS certain that it will affect my performance! Quite strange to receive an email like this really - I have seen many understudies in the past and never once been emailed about it in advance! Maybe I'm in a minority though, because I would have booked to see this whoever was cast as Fanny as it's the show I wanted to see. I very rarely book to see a specific person. It would have been nice to see Sheridan because I've never seen her before and I know some of my friends loved her in Legally Blonde, but hopefully I'll get the chance at some other time when she's recovered. I am looking forward to seeing Natasha. Edited to say - and no, I don't have an ATG Theatre card.

They highlighting the change which will probably make more people want a refund then by not giving one you create an audience who are angry at you.

Martine Mccutcheon coming out in support of sheridan probably isn't as helpful as she thinks

If anything, this is going to be huge career boost for Natasha Barnes. Rising star story of the understudy stepping into the lead role!

When Whoopi Goldberg had to pull out of Sister Act I definitely got emails and phone calls as well. I can't remember if they were offering refunds because I didn't take one but I assume they did. They also subsequently offered those of us who had tickets for Whoopi advance booking for the extra five shows she did later in the year (even if we hadn't taken a refund).

Good for Sheridan for putting her mental health first. I wish her nothing but love and happiness and to return with a clear and happy mind.

I think the email is probably to prevent people kicking off at FOH/box office staff if they turn up not knowing she's out - remember not everyone with tickets will have been following this saga as closely and won't know she's off.
