If it is something to do with Sheridan, it must be pretty immediate, as in happened over night. I saw her on Tuesday evening and she was stunning! Quite literally up there with Imelda. Which makes me doubt it is her but that is only because I saw her on form a few nights ago. My guess would be the conveyor belts maybe? They do carry on the vast majority of the set. Or maybe something wrong with the curtains not going up or something? It is not a very technically heavy show in all honesty... there are a lot of curtains and the conveyor belts are used a lot too... All I can say is that I saw Imelda in Gypsy 5 times and this performance was nowhere near that so something must have been up. I wonder if someone actually told her not to go back on. I really hope she is OK. As someone who has seen the show, how zany is the character at the beginning? Like, in the cornet song, is it normal for her to bump into the dancers etc? Its difficult for me to judge as I have nothing to compare it to.

When I saw it (and I know Sheridan likes to do some improv with those scenes) there was a lot of grabbing the two guys bootys and a bit of flailing around which is part of the character she has chosen portray. She also does a lot a over the top craziness in Greatest Star too.

And I asked one of the front of house staff a similar thing and she said thats how she plays the part. Maybe I was swayed by all the other people in the audience who thought something was wrong...it just didn't feel like a comfortable performance!

I saw her in Legally Blonde and loved her so was really looking forward to this. Plus I had centre stall seats (it was a Christmas gift)...oh well. Fingers crossed I can find similar seats in the future...have already written an email to the theatre manage.

Does the understudy hang around backstage after the show starts?

Does the understudy hang around backstage after the show starts? Swings do until the Interval... so get Sheridan off, get Natasha on, get whoever is Natasha's understudy into the assistant role and get a swing into the ensemble role... 20 minutes, done.

...until people know they really shouldn't be making rumours. You must be new to the internet!

If there is any truth to what WestEndProducer has tweeted, it would certainly correlate to other talk of Sheridan's behaviour that I've heard of. To balance that out, apparently Glenn Close is an absolute joy to work with. A real company member and no diva-ish behaviour in sight! Neither of these things surprise me.

People need to remember the laws on initiating and spreading potentially actionable rumours. The people who administrate this bosrd do not, I presume, have bottomless pockets. If the tweet has disappeared the it will have been on such advice, although even deleted tweets can be evidence.

Turning into Savoygate with rumours and counter rumours. May never find out what happened if It is buried by the producers. If they don't come out and say what the technical hitch was though then people will be left to make their own minds up.

Spot on cardinal pirelli. On several occasions previously running another forum I've been threatened with legal action and in some cases asked/ordered to provide users details. I'm always wary of posting anything I can't back up.

Yes indeed Sorry to rain on the parade but as as the original tweet has apparently been taken down I've removed all reference to it from this thread, along with further unsubstantiated rumours about performers which could get us into hot water. Please don't get us, or yourselves into trouble!

Do they use a back line for vocals and sound on stage? If that malfunctioned then half of what you say or sing can sound weird. Just ask Adele and One Direction.

I could buy into this if it was a show with an actual technical element to it to go bad. But there is practically no set to speak of.

Unless more details emerge of the actual technical hitch which made the show unworkable, I'll remain sceptical. These must be hard times for those involved and let's recall family circumstances might also be in play.

Seems my post has gone down cos I mentioned the tweet, but they don't have to justify the technical difficulty, I've been at many shows before when shows have been stopped for around half hour and the only explanation we had was 'technical difficulties'

Let us not forget that technical elements going wrong is not just the set... it can also be lighting, sound, the curtains, something to do with the Orchestra... it can be anything.

When I saw it at the MCF it went up 30 minutes late due to 'technical difficulties ' with the lighting - then SS sent the infamous tweet

Let us not forget that technical elements going wrong is not just the set... it can also be lighting, sound, the curtains, something to do with the Orchestra... it can be anything. True..but I think everyone there is so capable of either fixing it or going on without this element. There are so many things happening on in these shows that go barely unnoticed. I am sure if a certain light is out the show can still go on. It has to be REALLY bad for them to cancel it altogether. Keep in mind that these shows are alive for the sake of making money. A cancelation is a huge loss to the bottom line.
