You can't sniff the sleeve inlay of a download George! Do you not feel the need to own a 'thing'? π I never read this board online. My people print it for me on vellum.

What's the wrong lyric?
I'm not a fan of Sheridan's vocals on this at all. I thought she sounds much better on legally blonde

I would've loved to have heard the audience on this album. Listening to Rat-a-tat-tat and I think it would've been better if we heard the laughter instead of just a studio

Missing my point a bit George...buying an album used to be an event... I couldn't agree more! Gone are the days when I'd jaunt down to my local Woolies, pick up the latest All Saints album. The anxiety of peeling off the massive sticker plastered over Shaznay's face without leaving a mucky residue, and opening the case only to discover that some of the teeth that hold the disc in place in the centre were cracked π± The horror! I loved those moments! I would've loved to have heard the audience on this album. Listening to Rat-a-tat-tat and I think it would've been better if we heard the laughter instead of just a studio But I have to admit that the quality from a studio recording tends to be a lot better than a live.

I'm not loving this recording at all. I think the orchestra sounds great, the ensemble songs are done really well, and I particulary like Who Taught her Everything, but I have to agree with funnygirl90 and skildpaddle - Sheridans voice doesn't come off sounding good. In particular there are more than a few times where she sounds really flat. And quite nasal. I think I've probably been spoilt having heard this score sung really well by a brilliant vocalist and this is why it just doesn't cut it for me :/ Saying that I'm sure a lot of people will love it - and each to their own

Hate to be Shady Shady so to speak but I don't think this will be an album I'll be able to listen to more than once. I just like hearing it sung by Natasha now. The ensemble sound great in this & the orchestra also sounds amazing. But, for me Sheridan does not have the vocals for this & some of the notes are π¬ just my thoughts I'm sure hundreds of people will absolutely adore this recording

Listening to the cast recording now now..My ears are bleeding. The way she turns her "S" into "sh" and rolls her "R's" is just so dumb, and her vocals were bad enough on stage and now immortalized to terrorize us forever. I can't..I can't...This may have been a commercial success for Friedman but it's a disgrace in the history of an iconic Broadway musical.

The accent during the dialogue sounds just like shes trying to do Streisand, and failing...as much as I love Sheridan, this recording just doesnt do her justice.

I really am enjoying the cast recording, it's a score that is stronger on stage and the music is less so away from it but all the cast sound great especially Sheridan and Darius!
Listened twice on my walk along the Thames just now!!

I get that people like Sheridan's performance on stage and think that the stage presence and acting make up for the vocal limitations but she really is exposed on the cast recording. The cast recording should send any sane person rushing back to Barbra. :-)

Sheridan also manages to make Fanny Brice sound like a cutesy 6 year old child throughout, whereas with Natasha (and Barbara, and anyone else who has ever taken on these songs) Fanny Brice is a WOMAN - real humour, real spirit, real heartbreak, not put on, cutesy 'likeable' mugging. Big fan of Sheridan, but this is not her role, and the cast recording is shamefully exposing. I wonder if Streisand will listen to it! This recording is such a non-thing for Streisand to listen to. It's so non-remarkable, and I am being unbelievably generous. It's actually a disaster and an embarrassment. I am never this aggressive when it comes to thinks I don't like. At most I'd be quite indifferent or let it be, but this entire production is offensive (and the reaction by everyone is amusing at the same time..)

Haven't bothered reading this thread for a whlle because of the pointless bickering and negativity. One quick look and it hasn't changed. Why do people obsess over something they didn't like sometime ago? I just don't understand why people work themselves up over something that they should have moved on from months ago.

I honestly don't get it either. I try to ignore it, and I successfully did. But the cast recording attacked me and I had to fight back.

and those who are constantly posting they "don't like Sheridan's vocals, Natasha is better" are no doubt the same who were complaining when the question of when she was returning kept being brought up over and over again.
Natasha does Monday shows so you can go to those and the rest of us who enjoy watching Sheridan can do so too.

Sheridan is an easy target. People will do anything to knock her. Is she Barbra, no. But she sounds great on the Cast Recording. Its a shame that someone acts whilst they are singing and they get knocked for it. If she just sang I, she would of course sound like a typical musical theatre performer. But it is clear through this she is acting and trying to really get into the character through her vocals on the Recording.
