Does anyone know what Marianne Elliott's plans are for the next few months? Is she down to direct anything? I presume she'll help this onto Broadway, but I'm surprised I've not seen her name down for anything next year. I'm longing to see what she does next.

Her production company are involved with The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe, she's then repeating her work on Company on Broadway in early 2020. If this production does go to Broadway, it will be the 2020-2021 season, as Sharon D Clarke is repeating her role as Caroline at the same time Company is opening.

I'd have thought the chances of this SALESMAN transferring to Broadway are precisely nil.

I'd have thought the chances of this SALESMAN transferring to Broadway are precisely nil. I think it'd do quite well at one of the not for profits like Roundabout or MTC but a commercial run might be risky. As much as I liked Sharon D Clarke as Linda, I think a bigger Broadway name might be necessary like Viola Davis.

Last time I heard the plan was Broadway all along. Due to happen after Sharon does Caroline or Change, so I guess maybe June/July?

Caroline, or Change doesn't finish until late June and I imagine if Sharon would probably a bit of a break before doing Salesman so I'd say September or October is more likely

I wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't open until Nov/Dec 2020 or even early 2021.

Straight forward production to put on, and one initially suggested and promoted by Rebecca Miller (and/or her husband!!). I think the Estate would be keen for his work to be seen through this lens back home. Plus it's the perfect vehicle for Wendall Pierce to establish himself in another medium.
For me, probably more of a scheduling issue.

Far from a scheduling issue, this very play has a separate rights holder Stateside who has long been nursing an entirely separate and very starry production. When those rights lapse is not something I know but until they do (or unless they already have), this production ain't goin' anywhere.

I agree with you. I did not see a transfer of Caroline Or Change to Broadway but with Company on this season Marianne may not have time to do Salesman in the same season. Holding off until March 2021 would be wise and in NY just in time for the awards season. Awards may not be a good reason to time it for Spring 2021, but it makes sense for success. As for Caroline, the production is wonderful but I was not into it when it was at The Playhouse. I heard the smaller venue production was so good and the reason I returned to see it in London.

Finally caught this. Excellent production. Hope to see more of Wendell Pierce and Sharon Clarke.

Is there some kind of song list? Any plans for a mini cast recording? I would love to have that heartbreaking last number that Sharon sings. What is it?

That's when Caroline or Change is supposed to open on Broadway, so no Sharon D. Clarke?

That's when Caroline or Change is supposed to open on Broadway, so no Sharon D. Clarke? I would guess not, I doubt she could or would want to get out of her Caroline contract just to repeat a job she's already done rather than a Broadway transfer.
