Well just got back from seeing Kerry at Birmingham in a night at the West End. What a great night it was. She performed with the Lets Sing Choir and English Pro Musica Orchestra and have to say they were fantastic. Kerry performed on 8 of the 21 songs, some of the other items were medleys with the orchestra and some were with the choir but it was a great night. To cap it all there were free programmes and a signing after with Kerry who was lovely. We were near the front of the queue, but it was lovely to meet Kerry who wore 3 different dresses during the performance. Her standout performance for me was I Dreamed a Dream, but her Anthem and Tell me It's not True were wonderful. All in all a great night at a bargain price of £17.50 . It reminded me of why I love musicals so much. Just noticed a quick video at soundcheck t.co/Pukdvu7ule

I went to the show too - good value for the money. Kerry even did a signing in the downstairs bar afterwards which I thought was a nice touch as the venue is surrounded by building works on several sides so fans would have not been able to see her afterwards. She is always great with her fans at venues with accessible stage doors but I'd assumed we wouldn't see her afterwards last night as she tends not to see her a less accessible venues and I'd figured she'd want to shoot home to her boys.

Kerry has copies of her latest cd Feels Like Home which she was only selling at her concerts on her website Kerryellis.com. They are in her shop. It is £15 for a signed cd including post. Have just ordered mine.

She's just brilliant isn't she? That voice! Still the biggest star of the West End in my opinion.

I've just watched this (I only found out about it a couple of days ago). Brought tears to my eyes, hauntingly beautiful. The accompanying video of all the empty theatres is gut-wrenching. Very clever lyrics.

Ouch, I'm working so thought of going to one of the other venues on what was going to be a tour but found they'd all been quietly taken off sale.

She should have booked a Saturday night in a smaller venue. I'm hoping to make it to the adelphi but who wants to go to a concert on a tuesday?

Sadly, this crop of musical theatre performers are not headline names away from the sector. Elaine Paige could sell-out big tours in major venues and did so for decades here and all over the world, and Michael Ball still can. But who else? John Barrowman - he struggled. It's a shame as we have some wonderfully talented people but (a) things have changed and (b) they simply aren't the draw they (or their managements) think they are.

I went last Tuesday to the Adelphi. First half where she played the new album was great. I really like the album, some strong original material which os rare for MT stars, and her voice is in amazing shape. Second half was disappointing. It opened with London Show Choir doing 5 (!) songs without Kerry (should have been 2 max) and then some overdone covers (Queen) mixed with better moments (Shallow duet with a talented guest who's name I forget). She was quite funny during her audience interaction moments and vulnerable also, mentioning she briefly questioned if her career was finished recently.
Stalls and Circle were reasonably full and Upper Circle was closed. Definitely an older audience than I expected. 12 years ago the audience would have been full of teenage girls but I saw none.

Also caught this and echo what you have said. She was sounding fantastic and the songs from her album were very good. The start of the second half was quite frankly bizarre and seemed to come out of nowhere and agree, went on for far too long. I was also disappointed that the great band didn't come back until the last song for the second half.
