Oh my goodness. I hope they all get better soon. What’s the protocol when this happens? Do people get their money back? Tickets to another performance? The cast got a piece of paper about how they can get refunds.

To be honest, when someone said Jennifer sounded ‘flat’ and I said she might have needed a little more rehearsal time it might have just been sickness!

Apparently Patti treated the audience to an acapella song when the show stopped! Someone on facebook said it was the same song that she sang when there was a show-stop for one of her final Sunset Boulevard performances. What a treat for all of them!

So on the topic of Company - a friend of mine told me that one of his friends told him that Company is being negotiated to be filmed for Netflix. Nothing is official yet apparently. They were going to broadcast the production into cinemas but the deal fell through and now Netflix have jumped in the ring. Not sure how true this is. I don’t know the person who the information comes from personally but if it were true I’d absolutely sob with gratitude. We’ll just have to wait and see if anything comes from this rumour.

It somehow feels like it would be a good fit for Netflix, despite them never having done anything like it before to my knowledge.
I will be gutted if this production is not preserved on film.

Someone on facebook said it was the same song that she sang when there was a show-stop for one of her final Sunset Boulevard performances. What a treat for all of them! I was at the performance. Everybody seemed off from the beginning so it wasn't a surprise when the whole thing fell apart. Loved Patti's decision to sing that song (A Hundred Years From Today), but even she sounded hoarse. It was the song she sang at her final matinée and final evening performance of Sunset back in 1994. It's not clear to me whether it's a refund we're getting or if we're allowed to exchange...

If they film it for Netflix I'll be a very very very happy man.

That evening performance sounds WILD. Patti acapella omg!
I was at the matinee and did think that Jennifer sounded a bit ill. At first I thought it was just nerves - she fluffed lines noticeably a couple of times and missed a verse in a song. But then she really struggled with singing both Marry Me A Little and Being Alive. You could hear the strain in her voice.
Don't think it helped that she came out at stage door afterwards and was chatting for a good 20-30 minutes in just a tank top!! I asked her how she wasn't feeling the cold, and she said it was adrenaline from the show. But maybe she was burning up with fever...!
All that aside, I really enjoyed her performance as Bobbie. She has a wonderfully expressive face, and a quite different approach to the character than Rosalie. Hope both she and Rosalie feel better soon! Grant Neal and Jaimie Pruden were excellent as David and Jenny.

There have been murmurings thats Netflix want to start getting into theatre/event broadcast so this could indeed be part of that initial exploration. It could be that maybe they'll wait until the Broadway run.

I've seen on twitter from audience members, the show ended tonight after You Can Drive a Person Crazy. Jennifer ran off during the song and the show didn't continue after the guys finished the song. Oh wow, poor Jennifer! That must have been terrifying - knowing that you're about to be sick and having to hold it together for as long as possible, under hot stage lights too. Poor thing.

Really want to get to the final performance of this but ticket prices are a bit too crazy to book in advance and its a big risk chancing it on the day...

We booked front row Upper Circle tickets through TodayTix for £60 a pop a while ago. I didn't think that was too bad to ensure we were there for closing night. There were £20 rear Upper Circle tickets too.

Netflix bought the streaming rights for some stage musicals (Newsies, Shrek,..), but never filmed a stage musical. It would be interesting to see if they really intend to film this or if this is yet again some fan's wishful thinking.

As I lament my closing night dilemma, I'm thinking about the little bits of detail I've been noticing. One that I loved was during the start of 'Ladies who Lunch'.
After Patti says "I'd like to prepare a toast" she clinks her glass with Larry then Bobbie in time to the 4 chords that are played. They clink on the 2nd then 4th beat (the higher register chords). The glasses have different amounts of liquid in and are tuned to the two chords!
Absolutely ace tiny detail.

Super performance tonight and Rosalie back on. I was there on Tuesday also when she went off at the interval. She certainly must have been very ill as it was a totally different person on stage both vocally and physically.
