This is one of those shows Which gets more attention Than sales Swathes of unsold tickets Just like Bend It Like Beckham! (R. I. P.) That was attention for all the wrong reasons though, wasn’t it? Not really sure how that’s relevant Even more so in fact It proves my point That despite rave reviews And people on the forum salivating over Company Actual normal people aren’t interested in seeing the show

As long as it's not one of those crappy live cast recordings. I hate those.

As long as it's not one of those crappy live cast recordings. I hate those. Rumor has it La Lupone is lobbying for an a capella version if you will host the recording at your flat.

As long as it's not one of those crappy live cast recordings. I hate those. I agree with this. I like a good live cast recording, but the recent live recordings from London have been embarrassing and abhorrent. If you want to do live, do it like these fabulous Vienna cast recordings from the '90s and early 2000's like Elisabeth or Rebecca. Legally Blonde, Kinky Boots, Grinning Man, Everybody's Talking Jamie, while I'm happy they were recorded, I don't understand how they were allowed to go public sounding like this.

I don't think those are that bad (haven't listened to the Grinning Man yet) . Now, Dreamgirls, that one was disappointing!

This was SO good on Saturday. That set! Amazing... although the bathroom cabinet fell of the wall and the sliding wall to let the priest out opened a bit early. I can't quite imagine it with a male protagonist now. Now on another matter... do you think Mel Giedroyc is Patti Lupone's 'sort of person'?

This was unbelievable this afternoon, it’s one of my favourite Sondheims and I’d wanted to see a production of it for so long.
The set was extraordinary, I liked how the couples suddenly appeared out of the darkness. Band, lights and sound were great too.
Rosalie was a stunning Bobbie, such a pure, bold performance. Jonathan Bailey is a star and the rest of the ensemble were terrific. Patti is irreplaceable, and on a personal note it was so lovely for my mum who has wanted to see her on stage for years watch her in awe (although we were a little disappointed she didn’t throw her drink over the front row at the end of Ladies Who Lunch, maybe she saves that for special occasions?!)
I also enjoyed the set changes, the priest, Richard Fleeshman’s body, Tick Tock and Being Alive. I haven’t left the theatre feeling this overwhelmed in a long time.
Take tissues, turn off your phones and GO!

@tom89 & @ryan I'm only going from the feeling in my waters, but all of the recent cast recordings out of London have been Live recordings. Much cheaper to produce and in theory quicker to turn around. Given the show only opened less than 4 weeks ago and they *basically* confirmed a cast recording on social platforms today, I would guess they didn't risk the money on studio time before the show opened hoping the show be a success. My gut says they've responded to the demand, especially as there have been hints at it arriving in time for Christmas.

I presumed so too, especially with Cameron’s involvement: the last two recordings we were given from him (Half a sixpence and Miss Saigon) were also live. Still hoping we’re wrong though.

Least they could do if it is a live one is to give us a Disk 2 Instrumentals!

I’m not even sure I need a studio recording... a can live recording captures what is special about the performances imo.

Even thinking back on this production, I still can't quite believe how amazing it is. Honestly, one of the best shows I've ever seen. And considering I wasn't particularly looking forward to the show itself before I saw it, I can't believe just how much I love it.
