With name changes and anticipating new members, I thought it might be nice to have a thread for anyone wanting to introduce themselves. Me: I post seldom because I'm far from the action--I live in Texas, USA. But I'm fascinated by all things theatrical, and the theater forum has been my lifeline to plays, musicals, events and opinions in the West End (and beyond!). I've been to only a smattering of shows there, but y'all make it come back alive for me every day. Thanks for letting me be a quiet part of the discussion.

If you see anything interesting in any of your local theatres, I wouldn't mind if you shared it with us here. Who's knows - maybe we can even convince the Admin to open an International section on here:)

Well I'm Craftymiss on the old forum but the name was a legacy from other forums I've been on and I couldn't think of anything more appropriate at the time of joining the other board. I'm lucky I can get to London reasonably easily so seeing mid week evening shows is fine. I review for an online review organisation and I'm regional editor for the Southcoast.

I was AnnT "over there", but as Mr T is ancient history I'm changing to my twitter name. Live in NW London, work in SE London (couple of doors up from The Stage offices), so theatre any night of the week is do-able for me. I usually go to the theatre on my own as friends are too broke to buy tickets.
Musicals are my favourite source of escapism - this year is shaping up nicely with Phantom, Peter Pan Goes Wrong, Kinky Boots, Funny Girl and Miss Saigon all getting repeat views; Sunset Boulevard, Mischief Theatres Bank Robbery, Miss Atomic Bomb, Aladdin, Lady Day and Branagh Romeo & Juliet tickets all booked.

I kept my weird name and avatar. I might change it to the proper spelling once I am established.
I live in Streatham and on average I see 1-2 shows a week. My likes include plays, theatre on film, ginger men, SRB and silver fox actors such as Alex Jennings.

still staying at Patterdale Pip. Live and work in NW London so can get into Central London really easily although I also visit lots of fringe theatre and regional such as Milton Keynes etc. I usually get to see 1 or 2 shows a week and my passion is seeking out bargains! Last year I managed to see 60 shows Karen

Theatremonkey, lost the .com bit in the move, as the new board doesn't like a dot in your name. Problem if you are called "Dot," presumably. You could try changing your (display) name. Profile -> Edit Profile -> Personal -> Display Name. Maybe that field accepts dots... at least d'James got his apostrophe back that way.

Hi, I'm Sarah and I've kept the same name. I'll admit to being a fairly inactive in terms of posting but I read the forum almost daily. I live up in the North so don't get down to London half as much as I'd like to so I like keeping up with what's going on on the forum. Hopefully I'll start posting a bit more.

Anyway, I'm the same (although I now have a small d' as it should be (no smut please!).) I didn't post huge amounts on the other board but I have got better.

I'm Ryan. I was Ryan on the old board.
I only need one name. I'm like all the greats.
Cher. Barbra. Liza. Hitler.
Oh.

I'm still ggersten - here and on BWW. Maybe some day, I'll create an avatar. Living in Central Illinois. Had an amazing 7 month sojourn in London where the old forum led to some amazing theatre opportunities. My family saw about 40 or so productions during that time. So, I am very thankful to y'all. I mainly lurk now - and get jealous reading of all that is happening. We do get back to London every now and then. And I have used the news/reviews/comments to help others I know travelling to London.

Thanks Michael, got me dot back .
Ooh, and does this board have the useful function of putting the threads you haven't read since your last visit into another colour? You're welcome Not sure if that's what you're looking for, but there's a recent thread option, right at the bottom of the main page (under "Forum information and statistics"). Or use this direct link: theatreboard.proboards.com/threads/recentAll threads with unread posts have that "new" symbol next to them.

Hi, I've dropped the MJS from my last username. I'm using the opportunity to finally add an avatar too!

So the signup wouldn't let me use an _ and has now made my name lower case . How can I change it?

I'm Peach. You don't know me but I've lurked on the other boards on and off for about 8 years.
I like handsome actors. I like Shakespeare. I like to think of myself as shallow but discerning.

Hello, a bit of a kerfuffle trying to register for this place (somehow signed up for another theatre forum somewhere along the way), but I'm here - hoping what I see while I'm on here is a bit better than the last couple of plays I've seen while on the other place (Evening At The Talk House and Waste)

Hmm, can a mod amend my name to Marwood rather than marwood? Thanks if you can, not the end of the world if you can't.

Realised I haven't actually introduced myself yet so here goes. Steffi on the old forum, same name here. I live in Germany but travel to London fairly regularly for a theatre fix. Also love travelling to New York for some Broadway and Sleep no more. I'm a bit of a Punchdrunk geek so basically where they go and do a show I go too. I do a bit of theatre blogging in my spare time (link is in my profile).
Glad we are doing so well in keeping the community together in our new home. :-)
