At this late stage I've been asked to suggest a venue. Preferably, central with food, drink and ‘entertainment’.
Ideal Budget £30-35 plus Drinks. 35-40 people.
Last time I organised it I booked dining followed by the Pantomime at the Players Theatre. It was a great night (for about half of us!). (I so Miss the Players. But there’s a Good Old Days hour on BBC4 later this week)
Last year we hit Tiger Tiger- who looked after us OK but many found the music too loud.
So I'm aware there's not a perfect compromise for everyone.
Suggestions welcome.
(PS apologies for the selfish post but others may be interested in the suggestions.)

Maybe we can arrange a Theatre Board Christmas Party after the suggestions. Haha.
What day of the week do you think it will be? A Saturday?

I thought someone was suggesting a Board Christmas party, much disappointment!
Do any of the casino-with-food type venues still have slots? or go cliché and a drag bar?
Otherwise don't knock a good high street chain for a decent affordable meal and then be more 'up market' with your drink/entertainment choice elsewhere...

There's over 2 hours of entertainment, which for a christmas treat is funny because it's 2 hours more fun than I got out of Elf...

Thank you for the suggestion. We've done that. Anything else.

Do everyone a favour and cancel it! Work Christmas parties are the absolute worst...
Failing that, try the ping pong place (Bounce?) in Holborn or the table football place in Clerkenwell. Both actually pretty good at keeping people entertained and full of food and drink at the same time.

What about the wine place that's down by Borough Market? or a 'experience' like that? one of the suggestions for ours was the Penderyn Distillery, followed by drinking of their produce...
Personally I hate a work 'do' last year I left ours early to see a play...which ironically was in part about getting very drunk in Cardiff on a Saturday night.

I think Vinopolis died a long time ago - isn't it just a restaurant now?
Plus, you've got to cater for people who can't/don't drink on nights like this.

But they still exist. bloomsburybowling.com/a-private-bowling-room-with-space-to-entertain/ Re Christmas parties. We didn’t hold one for about 5 years from 2008(obvious reasons). But the clamour for one and the response from those who attend has always been great. NO one is under pressure to attend and about 55% do. From talking to other firms that’s typical. Other GREAT one’s were A A Mystery Day Out on a coach where you had to have a passport to get on. Everyone thought we were joking. We had a brilliant lunch in Boulogne and the whole thing was cheaper than doing it in London. Cardiff!. The overnighter in Amsterdam. Very difficult as easyjet won't do group bookings and we had to use 3 different UK airports. Karoke night (a long time ago). The original Brick Lane Music Hall (when that was where it was – God I’m old!) Thanks for all the suggestions. A black Cab driver came up with steamandrye.com/coronettheatre.co.uk/events/www.grandconnaughtrooms.com/www.bricklanemusichall.co.uk/ Start enquiries in earnest tomorrow.
