When you have a postal vote, as I have done for almost my entire adult life, it can come as a surprise when others mention going to vote in person. It certainly helps to take the mind off the election; when my OH spoke about voting, I thought "Oh yes, it's tomorrow, isn't it?!" I've really enjoyed doing postal vote for the first time, made life a lot easier

It certainly helps to take the mind off the election; when my OH spoke about voting, I thought "Oh yes, it's tomorrow, isn't it?!" Would seem strange to have a postal and not go to the polling station. Love the smell of the voting booth, the freshly sharpened pencils, the invigilator pretending it is a private ballot whilst writing my number on the back of the voting slip. Will I sabotage the ballot box this time. Will I visit more than one polling station. Decisions, decisions.

Apols to all for continuing the off-topic conversation, for which I see there is a new thread. Back to the point and this week I expect to see nothing, as so far as I can tell, there are no theatres within miles of where I'm going - but I'm not giving up yet!

Tonight I shall be at the Young Vic to see 'Life of Galileo'. I shall be the patron trying hard not to sing 'Bohemian Rhapsody' or making jokes about using a telescope to be able to see Uranus up close.

Tonight I shall be slipping on a red wig and searching for a sugar daddy at the Piccadilly Theatre for 'Annie'.
I'll be in a box. Get me. It's a hard knock life innit.

After a quiet few weeks Friday night I'm heading back to Queens for Les Mis, to have a look at young Killian Donnelly as Jean Valjean.

I'm going to the Young Vic tomorrow for the first time ever, for Galileo. I'm very excited! I want to see the Young Vic even more than I want to see Galileo really, to be honest.

Normal service resumes this week, I fervently hope. Two single weeks away (both lovely but in areas lacking cinema and theatre) within a few weeks of each other, and each knocking out two weekends, so four in total, have left me craving my cultural fix.
This week's fixtures: Gloria; Killology; Roller Diner and Terror.

John Owen-Jones in concert in sunny Rhyl!! If you are in the vicinity of Blackwood, South Wales on Tuesday, go and see him. He was brilliant, great program wonderfully sung. His rapport with the audience was excellent with a Grobanesque line in self-depracation!
