Just seen Harry Hepple's name there too. He was Pippin at the Menier and a fine performer. He was rather sweet in 'A Taste of Honey' with Lesley Sharp and Kate O'Flynn which was on somewhere or other a few years back I seem to recall. I want to say The Nash. Or the Vaudeville for some reason.

Hoorah for so many returners (leads and ensemble) - would we assume that Claire Moore will play Hattie in place of Di Botcher? I'm just so pleased that it's back in all it's glory.
Hattie is the logical role for Claire Moore, I think. Thrilled to see Josephine Barstow and Alison Langer are coming back - 'One More Kiss' was one of the great highlights for me. I'm already booked to see it once, and I almost never do return visits to things because living 200 miles away it's just too expensive; I doubt I'll be back to see it just once.

So I've just dashed off an email to Rufus to suggest that as he's put on so many clunkers over the past couple of years, he would be well advised to stick an interval in the 'Follies' return this time around and make a few pounds from some bar sales which he desperately needs and that now Imelda has jumped ship, he can make sure there's plenty of ice behind the bar. I'm awaiting his reply but I think he'll take it on board.

Can we have an interval just for a trip to the bar? My bottle of wine will be out by I'm Still Here, as will Tracie's I'm assuming.

Couldn't agree more. It was just beautiful. A breathtaking moment.

I see that Felicity Lott is listed in the cast. The ideal part for her would be Heidi - so I wonder whether she is sharing the role with Dame Josephine.

Opera singers never perform 8 shows per week - so sharing the role makes sense. Felicity Lott is an incredible actress in her own right - she has a very natural comic sense in many of her operatic roles.

If so then they'd jolly well better announce in advance who is doing which performances. I adore Dame Felicity Lott & would be extremely upset to book & then find out that she wasn't on. I guess I'd better continue to hold off booking for the moment (I had been waiting for the full cast announcement). I find it baffling that the NT's website has all the cast's headshots but no indication of who is playing which role.

I'm actually sad Alex Young is not returning, she did a lot with the (little) material she had. Especially her scene during In Buddy's Eyes. Oh well, I'm sure Gemma Sutton will be great, she usually is.

I'm so excited about Claire Moore being cast in this. I've had such a crush on her for years! Now just waiting for the extra dates to come online - I can't get down for the first batch.

Booking tickets for this for next year and could do with a little advice.
Last year I sat up near the back of the dress circle. View was good from up there, but obviously you're a bit distant so don't really get faces. I'm considering for 2019 going for the side stalls (the third price ones closer to the edge). Can anyone offer any thoughts on those seats, compared to being up the circle? Obviously they're closer, but are they too side-on? I can't really remember if this production plays very 'out' on to the thrust or not.

Where is this bloody album? Rufus Norris said it would be here by Christmas but now that's unlikely. Maybe a spring release to coincide with the opening night?

I remember talks about the cast hitting the studio straight after the show ending last January, it shouldn't be live.

The website doesn't specifically say it's a live recording as far as I can tell. From looking the only mention is of 'National Theatre Live' the production company, who produced the cinema screening, which the blurb is about.

It isn’t a live recording. Definite studio. They went in and recorded it the Friday and Saturday after they closed in Jan. Quast flew home on the Sunday.
