I doubt very much that Nikki was scheduled to do this... the contract will have been with the production/PR company so as long as they had an Elphaba singing at the event I don’t believe the organisers would have cared if it was Nikki/Amy or 5th cover midwife.

Does anyone else think there has been a lot more press events on this tour than previous tours?
All I can remember from the last UK & Ireland tour were appearances on Irish TV and Blue Peter (both performed by NDJ).
This tour has had a lot more, including Jodie Steele in Liverpool, Amy Ross on Irish TV and 3 events in Manchester. Also the pictures they keep doing with various Elphaba's on attractions in the city! I think it's been great how much they have sold this tour and the events they have done for it!

I guess because this is the final time this tour is going around, they’re willing to spend more money on it.

Probably dismantled and put into storage. I think when this tours again it’ll be scaled down.

I thought there was a rumour of another tour to begin late 2019/2020? I read somewhere venues have already been booked in some locations?

That was probably just a heavy rumour, but it could be true, given how successful this tour has been. Producers probably want to milk it for all it’s worth.

Sunderland was heavily marketed as "the last visit to the north east" so if they announce a return anytime soon they will make themselves look very silly.

The next tour won’t be going to the north east, it costs Wicked too much to fund all the vaccinations and bullet proof vests and things for it to be financially viable

Ha ha it was certainly true this time round, only Helen seemed to survive the lurgy!

Well, now it seems she apparently has the "Cardiff lurgy". Just a guess. Baptie and Chapman have done all performances in Cardiff I think and I don't know what's up with Helen. There's no way to tell as she doesn't really tweet as much as the others.

It was the Manchester Christmas lights switch on. It was billed as “The witches (plural) of Wicked”. No names, no pack drill. And no second witch by the sounds of it?

A Glinda was probably planned to go too but with Helen away, Charli covering and Grace and Amy needed in the Ensemble and as emergency standby cover they would have needed to go with just the one Witch.

It was a singular and uncredited Nikki Bentley doing the Manc lights show. It’s not in this video but the presenter, reading from a clipboard, announced her as “The Elphaba from Wicked”.

You’d have thought somebody would have asked her her name when she arrived. “Nikki Bentley, aka Elphaba from Wicked” would have been far politer than just “the Elphaba”. I wonder how much they had to cut as a result of them only having a singular witch, possibly they were planning to do For Good as well?

The two presenters looked a bit dim. Probably local radio. Couldn’t do anything that wasn’t written on the clipboard.
Didn’t bother me, I was still there waiting for Nikki to come off stage with an electric Dutch Oven in my mitts. I think it’s safe to say she was overwhelmed with it. She was certainly speechless!
See you at Stage Door in December My Queeeeeeeen!

See you at Stage Door in December My Queeeeeeeen! Satire usually involves taking an exaggerated position on something but there are probably actually several Wicked fans who are now looking up to you as their spiritual leader and planning to emulate your grand feat You’d have thought somebody would have asked her her name when she arrived. “Nikki Bentley, aka Elphaba from Wicked” would have been far politer than just “the Elphaba”. I remember when Jodie Steele did the Christmas lights switch on in Liverpool last year, Alice got a flood of tweets saying how good she was.

At least they acknowledged the character name. I remember that article about Ariana "getting her dream role as the witch in Wicked". Which one? There are various witches in this story.

Cor! That Bentley Elphaba is good isn’t she?
Can I add her to my histogram/bar chart/Venn diagram of belting having seen four and a half minutes of her performance on you tube?
“Wellllllll when I saw Nikki Bentley....” 🤭😬

Yes she sounds incredible. I seriously do not mind who’s on when I’m next at the show because they’re both sensational, how lucky we are to have them!

Less of the "both".
Amy Webb is pretty amazing too!
The tour have really spoilt us for Elphabi.

Amy Webb and Charli Baptie were on this afternoon. Amy does indeed have a phenomenal voice. Amy Ross and Helen Woolf seem to have missed a lot of shows in Cardiff. Hope they’re ok.

Amy seems to miss quite a bit at all the venues, I assume she’s quite prone to colds/illness. I don’t think Helen’s done a single performance in Cardiff yet.
