daniel I already have with no luck unfortunately. As the show is still going ahead they won't offer refunds (and I can't exchange it as I already have tickets for Saturday night and that's the only other performance I can go to).

The responses to that tweet are lots of very annoyed people.
The email address they say to contact also replies with an out of office reply saying back on Monday. After the show has left. Dearie me.

A lot of annoyed people by the looks of it and I can fully understand why. I understand it's not anyone's fault and no-one is to blame for this but it is irritating nonetheless. They won't offer refunds and given the fact the show leaves this weekend it isn't possible for everyone to exchange tickets for another performance. Luckily for me I managed to pick up a discounted single ticket so this is only leaving me £25 out of pocket as opposed to the £80 odd it was originally selling for but that's besides the point. I've emailed them out of interest so I'll see what comes of that, I haven't received a automatic response like that yet though.

Is it the venue who dictates the refund policy for a show or is it each show on a case by case basis I wonder.

When I spoke to ATG over the phone they point blank refused to refund (or even exchange) tickets for tonight's performance. They have shortened it from 48 hours to 24 hours if you want to exchange tickets but that's it (as obviously no use to anyone who has tickets for tonight). I'll be incredibly surprised if anyone manages to get a refund/credit out of Hippodrome/ATG/Wicked. I'm not bothered about getting anything back personally, obviously it would be nice for it to happen but in the grand scheme of things £25 is nothing. I feel for those who bought multiple full price tickets only for this weather to hit.
I suppose it could be taken as a positive thing that they are sticking to their rules of no refunds and therefore it's fair to all?

daniel yes I've emailed Bristol on the email they tweeted out, I'll wait and see what happens. I visit the Hippodrome a lot so even if it's just credit or drink vouchers I'll quite happily accept it. More annoyed at the fact I'm now reading tonight was a no fly show! I'm absolutely gutted, seeing a no fly show is one of those Wicked bucket list things for me. For it to happen on a show I had tickets for but couldn't get to is really irritating in all honesty. I was okay about missing the show until I read that 😂

Living very close to the Hippodrome, I am amazed they went ahead with tonight's performance when the snow and winds in the region are so bad.
The main train station into Bristol hasn't had any trains running for the best part of the afternoon and the roads are impassable.

It really does appear that they care more about the profit than anything else. Red and Amber weather warnings aren't just handed out for the sake of it. Given the fact all trains and buses were cancelled/suspended and the main roads either blocked and just generally dangerous to drive on how exactly did they think people would get there? Let alone get there safely.

Agreed. It also shows a complete disregard for the safety of their staff too, expecting them to report for work regardless of the conditions when police and Met Office advice is not to travel. |

We've been told to only make essential journeys in North East England and the local metro trains and buses have been running with severe delays and an emergency reduced timetable, buses stopping earlier than normal. Was no surprise that performances of Cilla have been cancelled. Who wants to find themselves stranded at ten o'clock at night?!

danb I fully expect them to go ahead with tonight's show. If they didn't cancel last night's when they were on a red alert I doubt they'll cancel now it's been reduced to a yellow (despite the fact the snow/ice's on the ground and travelling is anything but advised). It'll surprise me if they actually respond at all, even just to confirm tonight's show is going ahead, seems to have gone very quiet on the social media front. To me it seems as if they want to go ahead with the show to avoid refunding everyone, as it's pretty much impossible to exchange anyone's tickets as the show leaves tomorrow.

It’s the lack of anything that galls. There are numerous people on twitter taking kids etc, that just want to know and they are apparently waiting til 3 o clock to let people know. We can probably train it in then get a hotel, but not with 4 hours notice.

I do know that the Hippodrome, ATG and Wicked were all really slow to respond and have pushed people to a point where they can only go, accept the loss or to travel at their own expense the 140 miles to London to see a different cast. Whilst the weather is not their fault, their shocking PR and speed of response is. If it wasn’t the wifes birthday I’d be staying in tonight!

I was thinking why didn't they just offer Cardiff too but I guess for one November's a long way away and they're thinking most people will cash in their free London tickets by the summer at the latest. I think the main factor though could be that both the Hippodrome and Apollo Victoria are ATG theatres whereas the Millennium Centre sell their own tickets independantly. |
