It angers me when this sort of thing happens. All these people across the country that voted for him. I hope that money doesn't go to waste and Strictly donate it to a respectable charity. Maybe you should wait before getting angry? He may well have some sort of illness, be it physical or mental, that has prompted his decision, and who are we to judge that? If that is the case, the man's health is more important than viewers having wasted 50p voting for him. Illness or injury cannot be predicted. They won't reinstate anyone, that would be stupid. All that will happen is that we'll get a three-person final, which they used to do anyway and made for a much better final. I've yet to see a rational explanation for increasing the final to four couples in the first place. It was even better when there were only two and they had to do four or five dances each! Karen will still get plenty of exposure - she, Gorka and Janette will doubtless do a lot of the pro routines and bits and pieces on It Takes Two, and if there's a celebrity from a previous series taking part in the tour next year I'm sure she'll be near the front of the queue to partner them. Plus she and Kevin have already announced their own tour for next summer.

I hold my hands up and say I love Will Young, have done since back in the Pop Idol day. Yes he can be a bit of a diva by all accounts BUT I don't think he'd bow out over a silly tiff with Len-if anything he'd probably stubbornly come back fighting.
Maybe it's something entierly out of the blue like a family emergency-he seemed to be on social media as normal on Monday, or I believe he's had issues with depression/anxiety previously, maybe that's it. Or something entierly different.
Karen is one of the 'favourite'pros of the BBC she'll be fine-she and Kevin have a tour already booked next year, and I'm sure the BBC has already signed them up for next year (Natalie Lowe said reccently some of them have already signed 2-3 year deals)

He was never going to win. And that may very well be part of the problem. Oh absolutely! I said earlier that I thought he had " attitude". The standard of dancing is very high this year and he knew he was not going to even make the final. He was clearly very nervous when the results were announced on Sat/Sun evening and when poorer dancers got through he knew it was over really. Very sorry for his partner. Other celebs are trying their best not to let their pro partner down and to keep them in another week or two...clearly Will has no such worries. I don't understand these celebrities who appear on these shows knowing the format of "elimination" or "eviction" (in the case of Big Brother) and then complain when they are eliminated or evicted. That's the format. But it must be very hard being criticised and eliminated in front of millions. "Think I'd better leave right now before I fall any deeper" LOL.

Can you not possibly comprehend that something serious or some illness or trauma might have happened and have a bit of sympathy rather than spreading ridiculous, baseless conspiracy theories?! We don't know, so why not just be respectful rather than assuming the worst about someone's character?

Yes, 'personal reasons' is very often code for 'sudden severe illness in the family', isn't it.
However, I could be completely wrong, in which case I'm sure the gossip rags will have fun tomorrow. Sigh.

Sob stories are for X Factor! Either you're now just trolling or you appear to have a complete lack of human decency and compassion. I hope for your sake it is the former. It's just a light entertainment TV show...there are sadly much more tragic things going on in the world warranting my compassion. We will have to agree to disagree on this. I will say no more.....

From a quick look at the headlines of today's papers on the BBC news website, most are careful in their wording: Will leaves Strictly after clashes with Len. This is fact. (Whether the two facts are related or not is anyone's guess for now.) Only the Sun chooses a different preposition: Will leaves Strictly over clashes with Len. Now either the Sun knows something, or they have been less careful...
On a less flippant note, I really hope all is well with Will. Yes, he came across as a bit of a twit on Saturday; yes, the medics drama was a bit odd; and yes, his outfits- especially in rehearsal- were not going to win him many new fans! But life has a knack of chucking sh*t at you when you least expect it. And I hope that he, his family and friends are all healthy and happy.
The mystery for now lies in his rather upbeat message announcing his departure...

Of course pulling out for personal reasons relieves him of the burden of returning for any more of the show including publicity stuff, It Takes Two or those group dances they do with the full cast at the end of the series.

It's mental health issues, the same he had whilst doing Cabaret. Disassociation and separation anxiety. His brother is suicidal too
(This is according to the two guys taking about him on the train right now. It appears one of them knows him very well.)

Yes, I wondered if it was mental health. I think the first week he said something about not rehearsing enough but that he would do more, which seemed a tiny red flag to me that maybe he was finding it hard to turn up and/or wasn't committed to the project (but more likely the former.) There is this from the not entirely Sun/Metro sources: metro.co.uk/2016/10/13/was-will-youngs-strictly-come-dancing-fee-cut-by-80-after-he-quit-over-email-6189337/It suggests that he will have 4/5s of his fee deducted which makes it sound like whatever reason he's pulled out it isn't covered on the BBC's insurance (am I right in thinking that? The performers I know have to sign all sorts of disclosure/health forms when committing to big projects.) Also that he notified the company by email. Shame - I feel sorry for him, this is so public and I can't see it doing him any good, even though he was right to do what was best for his mental health. And possibly better to do it sooner rather than later, so there is that.

Hang on, we've made a giant leap from a second-hand overheard conversation on a train to Will being unable to fulfil his commitments due to mental health issues? Let's pull back a bit eh.
Why would someone with such issues sign up for a three month contract in a job where turning up for rehearsal, performing, and taking critism for those performances are an understood and fundamental part of the deal? Seems a bit rash to say the least and if the BBC had ANY inkling that he might be unwell they wouldn't have gone ahead.
Sorry, not ringing true.

Seems a bit rash to say the least and if the BBC had ANY inkling that he might be unwell they wouldn't have gone ahead. Sorry, not ringing true. Because dealing with mental illness isn't black and white. I have to admit I find these accusations of being "rash" a bit offensive - as someone who suffers from mental health issues, I know only too well that you can have a period of time, months - maybe years even - where you are coping and you feel pretty good about yourself and about life, so like any other person would you get on with life and take opportunities that come your way. But you can never know when a wave of depression or anxiety might hit and throw everything off course - I was fine for years before I started relapsing and ended up back in therapy. Just because mental health is unpredictable shouldn't mean sufferers are required to put their lives on hold just on the off-chance they might relapse. I don't believe mental illness can be cured, but it can be managed, and people manage in different ways.

Loved Danny (and Oti).
I think Louise is at risk of being forgotten. (Not tonight probably but before the end of the series.)
