I saw Ashley back in the summer of 2014.
He was really good; he played Price like the stereotypical cocky teenager you would see on a mediocre American sitcom. Which was a really fun take that was probably funnier in London than it would've been here.
If anything, he was solid, but very... actory. Like you always knew he was PERFORMING. Great voice, though, and definitely entertaining.

I'd love to see David O'Reilly, I've heard great things about him. What's the low down on Cody. What are his BOM credentials? I've been trying to find a clip of him to suss him out. :-)

Personally, I've seen him several times and he is easily one of my favorite Cunninghams. Funny, tender, and just an absolute joy to watch on stage! The West End is fortunate to have him. |

I saw Cody a couple of years ago and I really loved him. Probably my favorite Cunningham after AJ Holmes.

He took over when Jon Bass, the original standby on that tour, came to Broadway full-time after the tour had only been out for maybe three months. Cody was then Cunningham full-time on Broadway for about six months once Jon Bass left, and then Cody went to the 2nd national tour full-time. I saw him on Broadway and on tour several times, and he was the first Cunningham I saw who really came across to me as a real 19-year-old (even though Ben Platt was actually 19 when he started). Is the cast change definitely this Saturday then? I know the new cast are definitely in rehearsals, but they seem to be leaving it very late, even by their usual standards.

Does that mean youll be returning to the show soon. I definitely will - I really miss the show. Only saw it twice last year, both times on Broadway. As they're so secretive, I didn't want to risk it and booked a ticket for School of Rock for the 3rd February, but the Friday three weeks later is still free. Once they've officially announced the new cast, I'll be booking a ticket (if I can still manage to get one at a reasonable price though). |
