I won the lottery this evening. The lottery has definitely died down!!!
Anyway wanted to see this again for a while, as it is the best and funniest show in the West End. With cast replacements this is a great bonus, as it is all fresh.
So;
The main replacement cast weren't as good as the original except for Cody Jamison Strand who was utterly fantastic and the best Elder Cunningham I have seen since the original Josh Gad, his acting is brilliant, singing not as strong but he certainly delievered. When I say the replacement weren't as good as the originals, no way this is a dis-service as the originals all were exceptional, these aren't - but never the less they are still very very good and put together a great show.
Still hate young males playing older mothers at the airport in the beginning, strange!
Next cast replacement hopefully we could have a self righteous/ADHT Mormons who are British!!!

Sawnit again this afternoon. The Short general wasn't there- looked more like the guy above. Cody was fab and I thought KJ played it better against him they seemed to have more of a spark.
The audience responded really well pretty much standing ovation across the whole of the stalls.

Yes, I did enjoy it - immensely. I had seen the show once before from the back of the circle (for about £40 I seem to remember) with the original London cast, having failed to win the lottery many times at this point. A while ago now and I had forgotten a lot of the jokes and the show was very fresh for me. Seeing it from the front row was terrific.
I thought the ensemble of Mormon boys were fantastic - they looked absolutely right and their execution of the choreography was very tight. The whole show was very slick and polished.
A thoroughly enjoyable and unexpected afternoon. I could not believe it when he read my name out. I was already planning what I was going to do when I didn't win again! But a bitterly cold mid week matinee and I have never seen the lottery so quiet. So I would say that you stand a much better chance now than you ever did. If I can win anyone can!!!!

Would anyone recommend Dress Circle Row G for someone 6'1 tall?
Theatremonkey says its one of the better rows in the circle

I'm 6 foot 1 and a bit, I sat row E on the side block (central aisle) and I actually thought the legroom was fine. Not to disputes @theatremonkey's fine work of course

Part of me would be tempted to go se this again, but the sound was so f***ing awful when I saw it last time that I said I will categorically never pay to see it again. 2nd row of Circle, center so shouldn't have been any coverage issues.

What was the issue? Muffled? Too loud/quiet? I've sat in many parts of this theatre (mostly circle) and never had a problem before. Only seats I don't think are great sound wise, are those above the drummer in row A, as you get a very percussion-heavy mix. Other than that I've found it to be one of the better London theatres for sound quality

Felt the musicians in the pit were barely audible, with the exception of first Keys and Drums (which sounded like a 12year olds kit, dull untuned toms sounding like someone hitting buckets of various sizes). The low levels of audio left the production feeling really lifeless, they'd have been better of singing to track. The whole show sounded like it lacked body, like all the low end (<200hz) had been removed from every possible source.

How are the Loges for this? Thinking of Box 2 or 4 (the higher ones) because I've seen the show twice before and good to get cheaper tickets - but I saw it a while ago. If I had to take a punt, more action seems to happen house left than house right? So Box 2 would be better if I had to choose? Thanks!

I've sat in Loge 3 (one of the lower ones) and the view is pretty good and well worth what you pay. You will miss a small area of the back of the stage on the side that you are on though. If you are going for a loge seat, then I'd recommend the front two seats in the loge if it's just one or two of you, as it can sometimes be a bit of a pain looking around the people in front of you otherwise

Thanks Dan - there are 4 of us that want to go and we're all on a budget so a loge seems the best option. Am looking forward to seeing the new cast, too.

Well, I saw Cast 3 and founder it to have a better Cunningham than Cast 2 but a weaker Price (Cast 1 is unbeatable!). Price was mumbling a lot and seemed like he was having a weak-ish night, his voice was fairly limited. Cunningham gave a good balance between the goofiness and the subtlety. Show is just as brilliant as it's always been (though the British accents seem to be slipping through the company a bit more!) I can't wait for my next visit!

I don't follow this thread so don't know if this has come up recently, but I've just heard a pretty strong tour rumour for this one. (which might mean I actually get to see it)
