I'm currently trying to book a ticket for my upcoming New York trip in December on ticketmaster.com. However, after I've chosen my seat, put it in the basket and solved the captcha, I always get this error message:  Different browsers didn't help, either. I've also tried other dates and even other shows but still get this error. Anyone of you facing the same problems? Any ideas how to solve this issue? Because of the international call charges, I hestitate to call them - after all, booking tickets with them did work three weeks ago. |

Tried some more shows and got this error message for Book of Mormon, Wicked and Aladdin. Odd.
Just emailed care@ticketmaster.com. Lets see if (and when) they'll reply.

Is it worse than The Master?
That raises an interesting question about whether the whole ticket scam of post charges, printing charges, booking fees etc exists outside of the U.K.
Is it the same in Germany Michael?

Is it worse than The Master? The user interface is much worse than Ticketmaster. I almost despaired of booking a ticket for Dear Evan Hansen - especially trying to select a seat. If you got some time to spare and some hair to tear, give it a try: www.telecharge.com/Broadway/Dear-Evan-Hansen/OverviewUnfortunately, Broadway is separated between these two, so if you want to book tickets through the official agency, you have to deal with either telecharge.com or ticketmaster.com. I book tickets too seldomly for events in Germany so I don't have that much experience, but for Love Never Dies in Hamburg, I only paid €4,90 service and shipping fee (face value was €59,90). Not too bad. Broadway is still the worst, though. My recent Book of Mormon ticket (when ticketmaster.com was still working) summed up to Ticket price: $99.00 Service fee: $8.50 Order processing fee: $3.20 International Will Call: $2.50 Total: $113.20 |

Ticketmaster is awful. I've found their twitter customer service to be pretty good, though.

It's a huge scam in Germany. Like Michael I rarely see shows in Germany due to various reasons. One of them are definitely the charges. I don't know how Michael got around it or if it was included in the price, but when you book for a Stage Entertainment show, you normally pay 15% "advance booking fee". PERCENT. THEN they add a bunch of other bizarre charges like 2 Euro service charge and a bizarre 5 Euro "ticket-related fee" - if you don't pay 4.90 Euro for having the tickets posted, you still pay 2.90 Euro for picking them up. So the list is like Broadway: Ticket: 140 Euro Advance booking fee: 21 Euro (15%) Service charge: 2 Euro Ticket-related Fee 5 Euro Pick Up: 2.90 Euro Grand Total: 170.90 Euro You'd be 30 Euro up from the actual ticket price - which is basically a very nice dinner before the show. I only ever book a Stage Entertainment when they are super-discounting, but even then, if I pay 60 Euro for a decent seat, it's still 75 Euro by the time you have booked. I don't know any other country (even Broadway) where things are this extortionate. In the Netherlands and in France, they slap one single fee on, much like in the UK, which I find perfectly acceptable. For each of the tickets in Paris I booked, I paid a flat 1.45 Euro fee. Broadway is pretty pricey in terms of fee, but at least they don't have the ridiculous 15 percent thing. And right now I'm not bothering with Broadway anyway until the dollar slumps again. When it was 1.60 dollar for the Euro, Broadway was great value  |

If there was a fee for my order, it must have been included in the actual ticket price. That's my booking confirmation (directly from eventim.de who should be their official ticket dealer):  The actual ticket is €59,90, and I have to pay €4,90 service and shipping fee. Luckily, I still had a €10 Voucher, so the total of my order was €54,80 - still pretty expensive for a seat at the back of the Stalls. |

Yeah, I've checked the Stage Website, it says:
"Angezeigte Ticketpreise inkl. der gesetzl. MwSt., Vorverkaufsgebühr, Buchungsgebühr von max. € 2,00 zzgl. Service- & Versandkosten."
So the 15% fee was already included. I think they got whacked by the "Verbraucherzentrale" (Organization to protect consumer rights) for their intransparent pricing, much like low cost airlines did.

Update: I did contact ticketmaster.com via eMail at care@ticketmaster.com (don't do social media). Surprisingly, they replied within a few hours, and while they didn't address my booking error, they told me they were happy to book my ticket via eMail. I sent them show, date and seat and they put it in an order, but required to call me for my credit card details. I gave them my phone number, but so far no-one has called. Just tried to call ticketmaster myself (I found two toll-free (but not from abroad) numbers but didn't manage to get through their voice mail system and speak to an actual customer rep). Fingers crossed they'll eventually call me.
