This is sad as it’s an enjoyable little show with some gems hidden amongst the mundane. Is it too soon since the last tour? The lack of CHF? The lack of Les Dennis? It has name recognition…stuff like this is normally lapped up? It was being heavily sold on Samantha Womack in Edinburgh last time.

Just heard from ATG about my Oxford tickets. Cancelled. Have requested refund rather than the offered credit voucher.

This certainly isn’t about people’s unwillingness to come to the theatre. It’s their unwillingness to buy tickets to THIS show.

Manchester have just posted about the tour opening in a week so it doesn’t seem cancelled there.

Not sure who’s to blame but the show was in Dublin last week and there was little to no promo/advertising to be seen. I actually don’t think I saw anything. I only knew the show was on because I see a lot of shows and know which shows are our touring. Also I thought it was odd that the show was going out on a second tour only a few years after the first. Maybe it did okay on its first tour but when I looked for tickets while it was in Dublin there was many many seats unsold. At least this time they opted for a small theatre..

We're booked for a mid week matinee in Norwich (along with at least some others!), last week of the month. The week's still on sale (unlike this week's Wuthering Heights which has just now cancelled because of a covid outbreak). Could well be the last week of the tour. The following week in Eastbourne seems to have gone off sale.

I've heard what it is losing per week. Not from someone within the show I should mention, but a very good source. Ouch. They took new investors for this tour compared to the previous (most of whom got out), which didn't do as well financially as you might think (although it broke even comfortably).
Just running this show nightly to the average house it has played since opening is losing a lot of money.
Sad to see it go but I'm hearing this;
"shows on the road go back to places they did well at previously, and never at ones that didn't. Regrettably, people simply haven't come back this time for this show, despite having cut dates at the houses which didn't sell".
In other words, either the draw (cast) was gone or people simply didn't like it first time and don't want to rebook to see it again. I'm thinking the latter, from experience.

Going to try and see it the 30th in Norwich. It's a bit of a drive, but my in-laws live there, so hoping I can spend the night in their airbnb.

Just got back from seeing it in Truro… it really is the Die Hard of franchise musicals isn’t it? It’s some bog standard family melodrama script from 30 years ago, someone pulled out of the draw and then changed a few names and locations after finding enough spare cash to get the branding licence to The Adams Family. I enjoyed it, but after the first 20 minutes, it just felt so bog standard. Joanne Clifton’s arse though… that thing deserves its own billing. Oh for the days of back of seat viewing binoculars

I think there is an edit facility you may want to use. 🤔🤔🤔

Your comment about Joanne Clifton objectifies her and most people will find it offensive and think poorly of you for making it, so I thought you deserved the chance to edit.

Er.. have you seen the play or know anything of the character she plays? I don’t need to do any objectifying, it’s all done for me. Honestly, stop being so cisphobic, Joanne is a gorgeous woman who proudly displays her figure in the show for harmless titillation. Worlds still turning and no one is being oppressed.

Sadly the musical seems a shadow of the dark and twisted thing it could be. Imagine if if really went for the macabre. warm and loving but still macabre.

If people are going to start policing what is said then it needs to apply to all. Plenty of objectification of male actors happens on here and nothing is said.

Sadly this is 100% true and happens constantly on here. I've called it out a few times myself. I'm an equal opportunity supporter of ogling the talent (or not). 👍

Would you mind if I tag you in every single future post that objectifies men on here, so you can lend your support? I just want to demonstrate to you that it happens constantly and I haven't seen you ever respond like you did just now. Would that be okay, or would you rather I didn't?

In case anyone else wanted to give their opinion, as promoted by Ms. Clifton herself.

As a straight male on here it is often quite…specialist…and I’m not sure how I should feel/react to it. It doesn’t cause offence, just makes me pause, and wonder what the sh!tstorm would look like if it was about a woman.

In Manchester the stalls seem to be pretty well sold but circle and gallery… not.
It’s an odd one this, who is it supposed to be for? I’m not young but I don’t remember the tv show being shown in the U.K. It has name recognition for me but I think that’s because of second hand references. Was there something similar called The Munsters?
I saw the first tour with CHF, Les Dennis and Oliver Ormson when it came to the Lowry and was bored stiff. There were six of us, we all thought it was dreadful.

I wish producers would stop using Covid as a reason their show isn't selling. Just say poor ticket sales and be done with it.

If it has gone back to all the places where it sold well last time, then maybe everyone who wants to see it has done so. Some of these touring shows are coming round just a bit too often

You know it, and maybe you saw it, but like, years ago? It hasn't got the same recognition as say Shrek or a Disney show.
