I used to plan things up to six months ahead. Now it's more like "I'm bored. Where can I go today?" I did that this evening, came up with a list of things and went nowhere. In the end I decided I need an early night because I'm up at 3:30 but for some reason I'm still awake. |

Totally depends on what's coming up and how much I want to see it. At the moment the Furtherest away is Promises Promises in Jan but when bookings for Hamilton open I will be booking ahead for that.

My longest was for Harry Potter of around 10 months. No regrets at all. My problem is my rotas come in 4 month blocks and I don't often get it until a few weeks before the block starts, so I tend to fill up the block as soon as I get it with stuff I know I want to see, and then supplement it with last minute tickets to things you guys recommend.

Theatre-wise, the furthest I had ever booked was 5.5 months for Hamilton on Broadway.
Concert-wise, I'm seeing Billy Joel in Frankfurt in 2.5 weeks. Booked my ticket mid-November, so that's almost ten months.

I try not to book too far ahead when it's uncertain what my schedule will be for university, so I usually only book things when I know for certain I won't be doing anything else. I booked for Guys and Dolls back in about mid April for early August (4 month gap), because I knew for certain I'd be off uni and I could avoid the summer rush for tickets and get good seats. Did the same for Phantom recently for December for my Christmas break.
I do have Wicked and Harry Potter booked for 2017 though, so it depends on how badly I want to see a show and how busy I'll be.
