Voting opens tomorrow... I know a some of us aren't huge fans of these awards but who are/would you vote for?

There is pretty big chance Natasha J Barnes is going to win this, and rightly so. But I am personally voting for Jocasta in In the Heights. As she covers and has performed so many different roles and she is fantastic! |

Got to be Callum Francis for me. Carole Stennett is the only other one on the list that I've seen and I couldn't have been less impressed with her performance, so an absolute no brainer as far as I'm concerned!

Of those listed I have seen: Jocasta Almgill (In The Heights as Camila), Michael Cortez (In The Heights as Piragua Guy, Usnavi and Ensemble), Tosh Wanogho-Maud (Show Boat as Joe) and Natasha J Barnes (Funny Girl as Fanny Brice). Of those, I would say Jocasta as she was fantastic as Camila but also deserves the credit for going on so much in a myriad of roles in the show. Michael was brilliant in all three roles I have seen him in as Piragua Guy and Usnavi and most recently as part of the ensemble and again deserves credit where due for playing so many roles and does a great job. I think he is quite underrated at that show by just how good he is. Tosh was also great as Joe but other than Ole Man River, it doesn't do much so he didn't make much of an impact however he did take over the role from the original for a lot of performances like our final nominee. Natasha was brilliant in Funny Girl, and she and Sheridan were on par with each other and she handled all of the drama going on fantastically in a situation that was not just a casual West End show, but something that was being reported on regularly on in the press etc. My vote would go for Jocasta still, and I think I would edge more to Michael as my second, with Natasha as third choice and then Tosh. |

It has to be Natasha for me. That's not to take anything away from the talent and versatility of the other nominees, particularly those who have covered and played multiple roles during their time with a show, but Natasha's success is on a different level to the rest of the shortlist.
To take on a part as big as Fanny Brice, particularly in the circumstances where many people attending will have booked to see Sheridan and with all the media circus surrounding the show, Natasha has blown the audience away and earned rapturous standing ovations and acclaim for eight shows a week for two months. It's been a career-defining, life-changing few months for her and it would only serve to reduce the credibility of this award if that wasn't acknowledged in my opinion.

My money is on Natasha Barnes, but I think Ria Jones definitely had the hardest job and the most hostile reactions when her first performance was announced.

Out of that list, I've seen: Callum Francis, Hollie O'Donoghue, Matt Nalton, Oliver Ormson, Tosh Wanogho-Maud, Dayle Hodge and Lisa-Anne Wood. All brilliant, and in some cases, better than the lead. I would love to have more than one vote, as I want to vote for both Callum and Dayle for very different, but equally brilliant performances.

Looks like everyone who has ever been an under study has been nominated.... let the endless "vote for me" tweeting begin!  Though I have to say West End Frame is far more credible than some others. I received an email about the Wilma awards today and it seems to be all the usuals/pals/those who probably pay for promotion in emails getting the nod. Along with ridiculous mistakes like Guys and Dolls is in running for beat West End Show being accompanied by the tour cast picture etc etc. Really not a fan at all! |

I won't be voting in this as I have only seen Natasha perform. I have been very fortunate I guess as everything I've seen in the last year had the original cast member perform

Such a great list - so many good performances by the people on here. But for me it has to be Natasha Barnes. To perform that role - practically on stage for the whole show - for 8 nights a week, for over two months, and to make it her own as she's done is amazing. Especially under the circumstances with the media attention etc - she's handled it with such grace and professionalism. Not to mention her talent - stunning voice and truthful acting. She's got my vote |

I think it would (and should) go to the most famous understudy of the year who has had unbelievable attention for good and bad reasons. That's Natasha Barnes of Funny Girl. Maybe followed by Ria Jones. But Collum Francis has been getting great notices as well.
The fact that there is a person from Wicked nominated every single year makes me want to barf green stuff.
I'm actually surprised that I haven't seen any of these names, except Carole S. back in the Adelphi run of BG, and she wasn't that spectacular by any means.

So it just ends up with the most popular shows getting the vote or worse the performer with the most Twitter followers.
I keep threatening to launch the wickedgrin award for the best stage right entrance!

No surprise at all Natasha is winning as she is the most well known one of the lot. Although she is currently tied with Kane Oliver Parry from Wicked!
I do feel sorry for Michael and Jocasta being so low at the minute. Not that I take these ridiculous awards seriously at all, but they deserve some credit for the amazing work they do.

There's way too many names on the list and way too small of a chance of anyone voting having seen them all for anyone on there to get upset by not being very high up.

And of the three I have seen. how do you compare Callum doing the odd holiday or sick day, and Natasha going on for months, with someone who sings well, but doesn't do ditsy as well as her lead. |
