No news on casting yet but one would assume the OG London company.

The golden theatre is just about double the capacity of the fortune theatre. They have some big shoes to fill. Very risky not to go off Broadway first like the play that goes wrong did to see if it would be a success on Broadway. But I’ll happily watch as this potential car crash or huge hit plays out!

Playing at the Golden Theatre from 15th February. No news on casting yet but one would assume the OG London company. "Broadway previews begin on February 15, 2025 and the show will run for 16 weeks." Curious how they state this. So either it's a temporary run until something else comes in or they will employ the same tactics as the UK? |

The Play That Goes Wrong went straight to Broadway then transferred to off Broadway. There aren't many smaller theatres on Broadway and the costs are a lot more compared to London so the Golden fit the requirement of big enough to be able to make and small enough to be intimate. |

I love to support the little show that could but the awful ticketing schemes and the way all their marketing is comes across with the impression they think they're untouchable. Makes me pretty indifferent whether this fails or not even if I like the show.

The issues I have with this show are nothing to actually do with the show itself, just the stupid way their PR people habe chosen to market it.
Adore the show, thrilled it will deservedly get to Broadway - just need them to get a new marketing team for New York!

Well this is one that will not be on my Spring see list.
Hated it on the West-End & waste of a theatre in New York, how is this Broadway bound? Surly Off-Broadway would be more fitting for this fringe show!

Well this is one that will not be on my Spring see list. Hated it on the West-End & waste of a theatre in New York, how is this Broadway bound? Surly Off-Broadway would be more fitting for this fringe show! Off Broadway would have been the logical path to see if it works and if there is demand before blowing $14 million. There are several, very attractive venues that would have been the ideal fit. Mind you, producing Off-Bway isn't cheap either but it would have been a lot less risky and provided a chance to build a crowd/momentum around it. |

I *really* hope that someone is making a behind-the-scenes documentary about the road to Broadway for this - because I suspect they are in for a bumpy ride.
On a side note, in the NY Times piece I read, Jon Thoday said that he's hoping the original London cast will be performing on Broadway but that depends on whether or not they're able to get visas. I don't know how these things work, but wouldn't it have been better to have that arranged/sorted before announcing the Broadway opening...?

I feel embarrassed that this shockingly unfunny, drama student level show is representing the UK in NYC. Let’s hope they just focus on Sunset Boulevard instead.
