http://instagram.com/p/DAjGk_qpQn5 I thought he was brilliant in Book of Mormon and Waitress (as I'm sure he was in everything else he's done)- I'm left speechless and gutted at this news.

This one has really shocked me. He was just 48. A wonderful performer and according to some colleagues who worked with him when Book of Mormon opened in London, a very kind and generous man. Absolutely tragic. x.com/broadwayworld/status/1840795828505530604?s=46

So sorry for this. He was immensely talented. I saw a production of She Loves Me on PBS they should reshow it.

Absolutely heartbreaking 💔Had the pleasure of seeing Gavin in Mary Poppins and then in the musical Waitress. Rest in peace 🕊️

Just devastating. How lucky we were to have him in the West End on so many occasions.

Was singing along to his "Put on your Sunday Clothes" from Hello Dolly this morning. Shocked to hear the news. Condolences to his family and friends...

I wasn’t expecting this news, truly horrific.
When he was in Book of Mormon, I remember speaking with him, he had his adored pet dog with him.

Absolutely tragic news. Lucky enough to have seen him in many shows over the years and he was always a top notch performer. He’ll be remembered as one of the best. So sad.

I am genuinely so sad about this. One of the greatest leading men in contemporary musical theatre. Irreplaceable. This one really hurts. 💔💔💔

What horrible news for someone so talented and so young. I saw him in Hello Dolly, Waitress and She Loves Me, maybe other things but those are shows I remember. My thoughts are with everyone who knew him.

Truly shocking. I had to read the post on Facebook twice as I was sure I'd misread the news the first time. I only saw him once on stage when he was in BOM in London but what a great performer.

I’m glad I got to see him tap dance on the ceiling and so many other great performances. So sad, far too young.

I saw him in Mary Poppins and Hair. He delivered a moving speech at the end of the final performance of the first London run of Mary Poppins (12 January 2008) and he was so sweet afterwards at the stage door.

The final Saturday preview of the original West End "Book of Mormon" was one of the best nights of my life. Watching Gavin Creel that night was transcendent; we were all in the presence of true greatness. An astonishingly talented performer, impeccable stage presence, immense charisma and it's a pleasure I got to witness him at his best.
This is a heavy loss, in heartbreaking circumstances. Dying only two months after diagnosis; utterly awful. RIP.

I was lucky enough to see him in both Hair and Waitress, but it's his Elder Price which always comes first to my mind when I think of him, or indeed of BoM - just sublime. I'm immensely saddened that such a talented, generous soul has gone so soon from this world. My thoughts with his loved ones and all who knew him.
