Is Sophocles intentionally spelt with a K on the website? Or is it a mistake ?

Is Sophocles intentionally spelt with a K on the website? Or is it a mistake ? The K in the title seems to be a key part of their branding so I suspect it's intentional.

It's been a while since Brie Larson did theatre so it'll be interesting to see her on stage.
Greek Tragedy are really in vogue with two Oedipuses and now an Elektra.

Tickets for this might go in an instant but I might venture down to Brighton for the Friday or Saturday night: I’m sure the sea air will be bracing in January (haven’t seen anything at the Theatre Royal since McKellen and Stewart did No Man’s Land which will be 9 years ago next year )

Also, a series of Greek tragedies have played out in Downing Street and across the seas. Maybe there's a subconscious reaction to the times ..

I feel so old, I've never heard of her. There was someone in Desperate Housewives called Brie and its a very bland French cheese but that's all I've got.....

I am a fan of Brie (the actress) but I honestly don't think she's that big of a draw. I wouldn't expect this to be an instant sell out. Despite being an Oscar winner I don't think she has that big of a following. Of course, I thought the same about Tom Holland so maybe I'm a little out of touch.

I agree- I don’t think she is that big a name at the moment. She won the Oscar and then hasn’t really done anything of note since, except that dull drama on tv.

Her popularity is exemplified by the bomb that was The Marvels. The fact that the film needed three co-stars rather than her alone was telling.
People gave her Captain Marvel a chance. Though the first film only made a lot of money by the fact it came between Infinity War and Endgame and was touted as a must see to understand what's going on.
But after the honeymoon period she hasn't set the world alight. I don't even think she gave a great performance in Captain Marvel or Endgame looking all surly faced a lot of the time

She's a good actor although I think her best role was in the film Trainwreck with Amy Schumer.
I find it interesting that a lot of Hollywood actors are doing theatre, perhaps they think it's more rewarding creatively, it certainly won't be financially rewarding.

Amy Adams struggled to sell this same venue and even with a more accessible play... and Adams is a Hollywood actress with a far more prolific and celebrated career than Larson!

Holland is Real Madrid, Larson is Ipswich Town - but that should still be enough of a pull to sell well. You market it based around her being "Oscar winning" and "Star of Marvel films....." Sure only my Dog and a couple of people wandering into the wrong screen saw The Marvels at the cinema but I'm sure I saw a report a couple of weeks ago saying its done stonking business on streaming. This will most likely sell well, not Holland levels of well but it'll put bums on seats. I just find her screen acting too bland and dull to actually go and see in person.

Well count me in for this. I would agree that this probably won't be as much as a rush for tickets as Romeo and Juliet but most west end shows seem to gradually sell now.
The creative team makes this quite exciting too, although the adaption seems to be a pre-existing one so wonder if they will update it further.

Also, a series of Greek tragedies have played out in Downing Street Greek Tragedies are based on the premise that events are predestined and the protagonists have no agency. Shakespearean tragedies on the other hand are based on character flaws and so are more representative of past and current happenings in Downing Street.

Shakespearean tragedies on the other hand are based on character flaws and so are more representative of past and current happenings in Downing Street. It takes a generous spirit to believe that the current and recent inhabitants of Downing Street are people with agency.
