I really enjoyed Company. Great cast, orchestra and production. Can’t believe I haven’t seen this on stage before, it’s a great show.

I rewatched the Jeff Wayne War of the Worlds live show the other day and it's great. It's in concert and it isn't really a conventional musical (the 70's were weird) but it's a phenomenal score, and there's video segments with actors.
It's on Youtube as well.

One of the most bonkers evening’s entertainment I have ever attended! The stuff you do for your (Fletcher-loving) kids. Great when it was good, but with endless stretches of twiddliness. Needs seeing once though.

Needs seeing once though. I went to the immersive theatre thing in London and CHF is in that as a hologram. She doesn't sing though, and gets smacked off the virtual stage literally 2 minutes after showing up! Great fun though.

Described as a play with music rather than a musical, but I thoroughly recommend checking out the pro-shot of Wise Children on Digital Theatre. I saw it when it was on tour and am now a devoted fan of Emma Rice. The pro-shot of her Flying Lovers of Vitebsk (on the same platform) is well-worth a look too.

Miss Saigon is good, and if you buy the DVD you get the anniversary celebration bit too with lots more singing. (And Alistair Brammer and Lea Salonga both taking full advantage of a choreographed snog ) Some of the live filmed-for-tv ones (Grease, The Sound of Music and Hairspray but there might be more) pop up every so often and are quite fun. TSoM Live was on the television only a couple of weeks ago.

Thanks anthony40 for that. I have seen the Newsies pro. I think the dancing was awesome. The plot is perhaps a little thin and Jeremy Jordan spends quite a bit of time selling to the back row but there’s some good spots/songs. I find it a bit odd that they keep reprising the same couple of songs for much of the early part of Act One - maybe they were trying to really cement the music themes early on. Overall pretty good, and very well filmed.

My favourites have to be Miss Saigon, Les Mis 10th anniversary (really a concert though not a pro-shot musical) and what I see as the Sondheim proshot trilogy - Sweeney Todd, Into The Woods, Sunday in the Park with George.
I showed Miss Saigon to my partner during lockdown and he really got into it despite having never seen it before, I think it's a really well done recording of a phenomenal cast.

I too have watched a proshot of Saigon, and it was great because it was the same production and cast that I had just seen on stage when the tour came through my city!
