Formally announced for London, no dates or venue yet. Supposedly it will be purpose-built according to rumours.
EDIT: Now called COME ALIVE! The Greatest Showman Circus Spectacular. Doesn't sound like an adaptation but instead sounds like a circus show with songs from the film.

I don't know what to think of this? Anyone have any further insights?

Is this the fully official thing that was in pre production, or like an unconnected side thing? I just want a proper west end version of the film.

I get the feeling this is the fully official thing that was being developed. There's next to no info about what it actually IS right now so the show could be an adaptation, it could be something entirely unique, we don't know. Hopefully someone here can say more about this than I can.

this is a separate thing. full musical still a little way off. I can't imagine a world where Pasek and Paul would give up rights to their score if they had their own version of TGS in development. For those expecting The Greatest Showman to be aiming for the West End or Bway, this is likely all you are going to get....and as someone who really didn't like the film, this is perfectly fine by me.

Still makes me laugh that there are performers all around the UK that still perform songs from it in their concerts even though the rights aren't covered by the normal PRS license.

It would seem that they are now allowed to be performed if they aren't in a 'theatrical or pantomime' presentation. So I suppose that excludes concert performances.

Previews starts in September For this rip off show they do.. not the actual proper musical Iβm amazed theyβve allowed this to happen quite honestly , knowing they are working on the musical.

Our Jane has got a Showman special on Channel 5 tonight at 8pm, so let's hope incarceration can wait until 9. Special guests, and everything! I think there must be something else being shown on t'other side. π€

Itβs at the Empress Museum in Earlβs Court, adjacent to the site of the old exhibition centre. Google Maps has a pin for Empress Space just behind it so guessing the entrance will be via the museum and the big top / auditorium structure will go up there, rather like the ABBA Arena.

This reminds me of the recent immersive Priscilla show. Theatre but not a musical, if that makes any sense!

Got my email and booked a ticket for this. It didn't offer me a choice of seat, just a choice of prices, so of course I plumped for the lowest price cos I'm not paying a lot of money unless I know the value of what I'm paying for. Also, if you can't select your seat, then you can't do what I always do: figure out what you're willing to pay and select a seat next to a much more expensive seat lol. So I'll be at the back and at the wrong side (if there is a wrong side) as this looks in the round. The most expensive price I saw offered was Β£125. The cheapest was the Β£25 I paid. Fingers crossed lol.

Not a fan of not being able to choose a seat though!

This was for first week of previews, but about 75% of the seats were Β£65, with a section being exclusively Β£125 premium package seats and then a few rows of Β£25 seats as well, either with the back to the band or in the back rows of the sections opposite. Hopefully being in the round all seats offer a great view anyway though!

Was a hour plus in the queue but the email notification worked well. Booked for a Sunday 2.30 , no sun evening or Monday shows. Could pick seats, prices 195 package. 155, 130, 80.50, 59.50,40. The seating is in four blocks. Viewed as a square the band are at the top with the cheapest seats next to them. The bottom right corner block is called empress and showed all at seats at 195 so presume it will be chiefly played to that block. Think each block had about ten rows. Back row is 59.50 then about three rows per price increase before front.

Queue must have sped up, missed my notification, rejoined the queue and it was only a minute or so with seat plan. booked bottom price as even that is a lot (Β£40 at the weekend) but I think FOMO will hit if I don't.
