Sion Daniel Young is also in it, he's done a few things like Deceit, Witness Number 3 and the voiceover of my Mum's favourite show Clean It, Fix It. He's done a fair bit of theatre as well.

Watched the first episode, one of those programmes where not a lot happens and not much plot, but it does slowly draw you in. Took me a while to warm to the Gabriel character. Well acted and well written. The adoption side of the story us movingly handled and i want to watch the next one, so thats a good sign. Could do without the singing segments though.
And superficially Fra Free is such a handsome and hot guy, and is also such a talented actor I can't keep my eyes off him 😅

Thoroughly enjoyed it. Wasn't familiar with either of the two leads but it was well acted and indeed it did draw you in.

I really enjoyed episode 1 so I ended up watching the other 2 episodes as well. A real emotional rollercoaster of a story with 2 terrific performances from Fra Fee and Sion Daniel Young.

I started to watch this last night and ended up watching all 3 episodes. As already mentioned it was a real emotional roller coaster and I was a bit of a wreck at the end. Really good script and great acting from the 2 leads and all of the cast. I have to mention the birth mother in episode 3 who was superb. I noticed that Fra Fe had all of his tattoos covered by make up (and he has quite a few), not sure why they did that. And he has really matured since I last saw him as Candide at the Menier.

Fra Fee is really starting to remind me of Kit Harrington (jon snow era) looks wise. Really noticed it watching this. But I think Fra is the stronger actor.

Just spent the afternoon watching this. I honestly can’t think of the last time a to show has put me on the verge of tears.
It was so beautifully acted, from the last 5 minutes of episode 2. As soon as that song started, I instantly remembered what the last lyrics were and screamed “NOOOOO! They can’t do that” at the TV. Very good use of foreshadowing in such a small space of time. And the entire emotional ride through episode 3.
Also have to mention the birth mother at the end of 3. Was so swee to see how much she still loved and cared for her son.

I don't usually binge watch programmes but I've had to do it with this. It's stunning. The music segments were beautiful (as a massive Erasure fan, the cover in ep 2 was one of the best I've heard) and I actually got pretty emotional as I recognised the bar that the guys go to on their 'last night of freedom' was the first gay bar I used to frequent.

Sharon D Clarke gives a lovely performance as the foster parent who's been caring for Jake, and was promoting it on Morning Live saying how proud she was to be part of such an important story that would've been impossible to make for mainstream TV only a short time ago.

Only part way into the first episode and loving it so much.
Am in a heightened emotional state for a whole range of reasons but this is a beautiful piece of writing with really sensitive portrayals of well rounded characters.
Cried twice so far

Having now not managed to avoid spoilers ... Hey ho...
Isn't the plot just a bit similar to Torch Song Trilogy?
I love the play to bits. And great as this show is, it does feel a bit derivative.

So currently both my television and personal laptop are broken and I'm having to watch everything on my work laptop via the i-Player and this keeps coming up on the homepage, so today I sat down and watched all three episodes.
Gosh, that was a bit emosh, was it not?
Although it's not something I would normally do, I did find myself wiping away a few tears.
I could see the similarities with Torch Song Trilogy but I though this was a beautifully acted and well written piece.
(Believe it or not) this is the first thing that I've seen Fra Free in. It is my understanding that he has a lot of tattoos and, as referenced in a previous post, it's interesting that in the few shirtless scenes has was in that they chose to cover them.
I think it was great that both actors retained their natural accents. Although I can understand what they're saying, I find that I need to train my ear and really have to listen to the Welsh accent.
I was watching and was wondering how much time they had to spend getting to know each other in rehearsals to make the fact that these two guys were in love look so believable.
It was also interesting to see Gabriel's relationship with his father play out. I particularly like the funeral scenes.
On the surface, it would appear the Andy was the stronger driving force, the most determined of the two but, despite his set backs, in his own way, Gabriel came into his own.
Sharon. D. Clarke was excellent, as ever. Strong and confident.
However I thought the actress they brought in to play the little boy's mother was outstanding. Whether intentionally or not, for me, she stole every scene she was in.
This was a great watch. Was this all filmed in Wales?

It seems there is a possibility of a second series as the writer has an idea of how it could develop. Here's hoping.

You know I had this random thought over the weekend; they really did pack a lot of story (and emotional punch) into only three episodes!

I finished watching this a few days ago and loved it. I rarely cry during a film/series but this brought me to tears.
