The Emmett for this tour was cast ages ago (somewhere back in this thread), and I thought then that it was early. Never heard of Rita Simons before. Hope she's good. As I said earlier, you can' sleepwalk through Paulette as she's got such a strong character, lots of jokes etc. etc. Yeah Paulette doesn't need to have an amazing singing voice but as long as she can do the jokes and humour well then you should be alright She totally does need to! I've always thought Mazz Murray would make an AMAZING Paulette. She wouldn't tour though. I was disappointed by all the main Paulette's in the West End version. Jodie Jacobs was far and beyond the best there's been (in the UK). Ireland (even with the rewrites) is such a lovely song if you have the vocal chops to do it justice and nail the end note.

Never settle for someone who can just do the comedy. They need to be able to sing the pants out of Ireland (Orfeh and Jodie Jacobs being prime examples - the end note of Ireland reprise defines whether the actress can play Paulette - the joy in that moment is that character in one note

Okay I didn't mean it like that, I think I phased it wrong.
I meant that I'd rather have an amazing singer playing Elle than Paulette as Elle has to sing two huge songs (Legally Blonde and So Much Better that latter of which needs huge pipes for the ending!) and as Paulette only has one solo if producers want a headline name then that is a good role to put them into, if you get what I mean? OBVIOUSLY you would want a great singer and great actress/comedianne to play that role too

I'm really debating whether to see this or not. I have been waiting for a tour of this for agesssss but I recently watched the London bootleg online and loved it! I'm not sure if I want to see it or not again, especially if it isn't by the same producing company.
I dont know why but I always find Legally Blonde and Hairspray similar shows and over the two, I'd probably rather seen the latter.

www.ukproductions.co.uk/production-hire/legally-blonde/These are some productions shots from the recent UK Productions amateur production of LB. Maybe the upcoming UK tour will have a similar set to this with tweaks such as automation. On a side note, I think Natasha J Barnes would be a good Elle and Alexia Khadime would be a good Vivienne.

Who designed that set, it is horrible! For amateur sure, but this cannot be a professional touring production set... but then again, Kenwright.

The upcoming tour is being produced by UK Productions....so I really wouldn't be surprised if that is the set they use.

Are you serious? I have seen both Natasha and Alexia and really enjoyed both performers but they aren't right for either role.

I am debating booking this but I want to know what UK productions are going to do with it. Is it likely to look amateurish like with those sets? I do love the show and I'm sure Rita will be fab as Paulette but I don't want the show to be different to the original production value as I really enjoyed that.

Is there a website for this yet? Not yet. One can only assume, but the producers are very busy for a few more weeks with various Panto's. I would think once they're out of the way we'll get to hear more about the show, including website info
