I'm getting a headache looking at parking options for Luton Airport in October! I don't want to hand over my car keys, does anybody have any recommendations please? We're flying at about 7am so will need to be there stupidly early. Thanks in hope!

As long as it is one of the airports own car parks I wouldn’t worry. Take your spare key with you too, so if something goes awry you have a back up, but if Bristol is anything to go by they will know what they’re doing. You’ll be in & out in no time. Cheaper than an airport hotel.

It was Luton Airport that had that huge fire in one of its multi-storey car parks. With limited capacity, I don't think you can now just turn up on the day, even at silly-o'clock.

I used Luton Airport Parkway station car park last December without issue. It's not as cheap as it was since APCOA have been running it, but it's good value for a Fri-Sun weekend break.
From there, the Direct Air-Rail Transit (DART) takes you from the car park to the airport in two minutes and runs every ten minutes or so. The price is a bit of a rip-off though at £4.90 each one-way with no Railcard discounts. Under fives go free; 5-15-year olds are half price.
The car park is charged for each calendar day, so a two-minute stay from 23:59 to 00:01 would trigger charges for two days!
Weekdays - £10.10 Weekdays entering at/after 10:00 - £4.40 Weekdays entering at/after 17:00 - £3.20 Saturday/Sunday - £3.30 each

Might not be possible /useful but I only discovered last week that there is a new airport train (a la Heathrow Express) from KX to Luton Airport. I think it opened in 2023.

If by KX you mean Kings Cross (KGX in booking systems), then Luton Airport Parkway trains go from the neighbouring St Pancras (STP) station, as they have done for many years. From STP, you can buy fares to Luton Airport (station code LUA) that include the DART transfer.

Turns out it’s only the Luton Airport Parkway to the actual airport bit that opened in 2023.
