The recent Broadway productions of both SWEENEY TODD and PARADE HERE WE ARE (can’t wait for tomorrow’s album release, but I’m dying to see the actual production). SUFFS (do we think this is a possibility? I would love to see it, as I do like Shauna Taub’s music)

As I missed it first time round, Death of England (or any Roy Williams play for that matter!) would be very welcome! Well now Rory, I think you can take this as conclusive proof producers are reading! From this thread to the West End in around 36 hours!

Well there you go Dave B, top work mrbluesky! Oh my goodness!! I am genuinely thrilled - Roy is one of my absolute favourite playwrights! Now, let’s also manifest Punch for Rory! (Nica, if you’re reading, it’s follow nicely into SohoPlace!)

Chich's Assassins was far too on the nose for me - it went for the obvious and didn't make any particularly interesting choices which was a shame. Agree it went for the obvious, yet at the talkback I went to one of the cast spoke about their Republican American relatives who came to see the show and they commented to him that it was nice it didn't take a side politically 😂

Why are there so many "out of town" try outs that never make it into the West End? Lack of theatres being available? Too expensive to transfer? Not worth taking the chance it may not find an audience once it makes the journey into town? Excellent reviews mean nothing when thinking about a transfer? There's many reasons, but usually it comes down to how much money it made. In the case of Assassins, I think it was just a case of producers not wanting to risk it, compounded by the mixed reception and cost of running it there. Those three reasons are the most likely when any out of town tryout fails to mount on the West End. I second Kimberly Akimbo!! Was a West End transfer ever confirmed for it?

Ooh yes Kimberly Akimbo. I loved it on Broadway. Whoever said Death of England above, was it a coincidence it was announced today or were there whispers?

Given this appears to be akin to Cosmic ordering, can we also get a revival of His Dark Materials at three National?

Would love a Broadway transfer of Merrily We Roll Along with original cast. We've already had that production in 2013.

Three things I'd like to see in the UK that have been/are on elsewhere that haven't made it here yet: Hercules, Sing Street, and Anastasia.

Romantics Anonymous,Buddha of suburbia, The hours (opera) and Punch THE HOURS would also be great! It would be perfect for ENO, but would probably need to be ROH to get the same cast or that of a similar calibre. I would also like to see Puts' opera, SILENT NIGHT. I know Opera North did this a few years ago, but I didn't get to see it.

I'm also gutted I missed Silent Night. I think the Met are doing it in a few years time, hopefully we will get a cinema screening

Three things I'd like to see in the UK that have been/are on elsewhere that haven't made it here yet: Hercules, Sing Street, and Anastasia. Hercules was shredded at Paper Mill Playhouse and the German production is getting lukewarm feedback at most - and that's really saying something, coming from a very undemanding audience that eats up all sorts of nonsense. So I think once it closes in Hamburg, it'll be the end of the road for something that just didn't really work. Anastasia would deserve a run, yes, I enjoyed it surprisingly much in the Netherlands and I definitely hope that Sing Street will turn up sometime - maybe via Dublin?

It would seriously die the death in London, especially in somewhere like TRDL.
I could think of at least 5 productions that would probably make more money..!

...try 50 I personally think THIS is the perfect time to bring Beetlejuice over with the new movie coming in autumn and stirring fresh buzz around the IP and it could possibly fill a barn like TRDL for a year or so.
