The A Musical number (arguably its biggest and most well known moment) especially needs a big staging

I've now had a further pre-sale link which is through a different company and has a different set of rows on sale. Similar pricing, but the first link only had the second row, the new link has the front row (£147.45 including booking fee). I wouldn't consider paying that, but mentioning it as I know we have members here who prefer the front row and might think it's not available.

Eventually sorted. Couple of stalls for the Monday. Usual concert prices (high).

Why are the fees for this so cheeky?

Marisha understudied the role from what I recall. I'm sure there is a video of her singing Right Hand Man

I had already booked for this but even happier now that Mr Fleeshman is in it.

I’ve already booked my tickets through LW theatres. Is it worth me contacting anyone in particular to see if I can make use of this offer? We paid £39 for back of the circle, so sucks a little bit to see stalls for £25.

A huge thank you for posting/advising of this offer, I was able to grab £25 tickets for it. Before the offer the show was out of my price range without being right at the back, so nice to be able to go and see it closer up.

WOS have just posted some Sitzprobe footage and it sounds good. Big orchestra and the leads sound in good voice. Marisha Wallace had said this week she had laryngitis but that seems to have passed. And nice to see Mr Fleeshman on a London stage.

I hope the sound op is as good as the orchestra!

Pretty good so far. Gary Wilmot stealing the show. All nicely staged, no set, but costumes. A few props. Audio mostly fine and I didn’t miss anything too important when the levels were a bit off. Good to spot Jordan Cunningham dancing in the ensemble too as it’s a while since I’ve seen him in anything. They’ve clearly had rehearsal time, A very receptive audience, which helps.
I saw this a couple of times on Broadway, so I know the outline, but it’s hardly difficult to follow. Jason Manford will never be the best actor, but he fits in fine here. Excellent ad-lib from him when he slightly messed up a line, but everyone is off book. Marisha Wallace plays Marisha Wallace. I think it will be very polished tomorrow. All ready for act 2.

Really great for a concert production. No significant sound issues and it was a strong cast all around. Some slightly sloppy dialogue in places and missed lyrics but all forgiven. The material is very strong and the comedy was well played throughout. They could definitely have benefited from a few more ensemble members and what these concert productions miss compared to full productions is the tightness of the comedy. A few lines were missed because everyone was still laughing.
I’d love to see a full staging of this in the U.K, but I was very pleased with what I saw tonight.

This was one of the best shows I have seen this year and possibly the funniest musical I have seen before. It is a musical I have wanted to see for years and was booked to see it in Birmingham but covid put pay to that so great to finally see it. A seems the norm these days, more of a staged show than a concert. Fully costumed and off book, you could see how well rehearsed this was. Really large orchestra and chorus so it sounded glorious. Cast were excellent and this was the perfect show for Jason Manford. Gary Wilmot stole every number he was in and Richard Fleeshman in leather trousers and a cod piece! Well I can die happy. He was also brilliant as an OTT camp Will Shakespeare. One of the actors who really stood out for me was Nigel played by Cassius Hackforth. Reading his bio he hasn't done much so far but I think he is a name to look out for. But there really wasn't a weak leak in any of the cast. Loved the songs, there are some great numbers there, but its the comedy that makes this show so good. So witty and clever and a MT geek will get even more out of it with all the musical references. There were lots of very smutty, filthy jokes there which the audience loved and it would really appeal to the British sense of humour. I have a question for anyone who saw it tonight and has seen it on Broadway. Has the script been rewritten as I just cant see some of the jokes landing with an American audience, it was borderline panto. I haven't laughed so much in a very long time and it was just the tonic I needed. Very receptive audience who clearly loved it. I could see this show having a run in London so wish them luck if that is the plan. Might even try to go again tomorrow if I can get a decent seat.

Really, really enjoyed this tonight, it’s one I’ve been waiting a long time to see, the stand outs for me were Cassius Hackforth and Richard Fleeshman. I’m hoping this might lead onto a fully staged version. I felt some of the songs would have benefitted from the bigger ensemble, but as a concert version I couldn’t fault it.

Whether it’s been rewritten or just had the innuendo dial turned to max I couldn’t say but this was way better than what I saw on Broadway. My memory of it there was of an over long skit from Forbidden Broadway. An indulgence for musical lovers as it was packed with old school show references. Here, it still is but now has added sauce and Carry On naughtiness which was a clever way of sending up serious Brit theatre. Parts of it (the big show dance numbers) reminded me also of Spamalot. I agree with alice10 that the cast, chorus and orchestra were all terrific and that it also helped having a such a warm and appreciative audience who seemed to be made up of die hard luvees. A show for Show people which might therefore work against it getting a proper commercial run but I would go see it again. A big hearted, funny, entertaining summer night out. Loved it.
