I listened to a fantastic episode of Decoder Ring this morning about 'Stereophonic', which has just opened on Broadway produced by Sonia Friedman. Well worth a listen: Decoder RingAnyone got any intel on a potential West End transfer?

By far the best show I saw in NY last week and one of the best plays I’ve ever seen. 3h 15m flew by. Interestingly, 6 out of 7 cast members are Broadway debutants, but you couldn’t tell because they’re so brilliant!

I thought it was great with really strong performances. I do wish it was tighter although the extended pauses were very effective

I believe the 5 nominees in 2020 were all plays, surprisingly.

If this sweeps the board, a West End production will probably be within a year or so

Based on the set, my dream space for this show is the Lyttleton at NT. Feels unlikely given it's a Sonia Friedman production, but stranger things have happened...

Hmm I would have said the Lyttleton is too big. Maybe one for the Duke of Yorks. I thought it would fit well into Hampstead theatre too.
I saw this and thought it was very good. It’s just also very long so I’d probably opt for a matinee given the choice 😂.

The cast recording is SO beautiful. It makes me cry how much general pop music has gone downhill since that kind of sound was prevalent. I really hope the show keeps going until my trip in September.

I would crawl Exorcist-style over boiling, broken shards of glass to see this show after listening to that cast recording.

Bright (Fast) is so beautiful.
I can totally hear it on the radio, in the car on a long drive in the summer going down somewhere by the seaside. Sooooooo good..!

Saw this tonight and it was excellent overall. However the one thing letting it down were some very patchy British accents for a few of the characters! Took me out of the moment quite a few times.
