Does anyone else think that we're going to get a new novelty bottle of gin every time The Edinburgh Fringe Society announces a new celberity patron? We had Phoebe Waller-Bridge / Fleabag gin, and that sort of made sense. Then we had Eddie Izzard Gin, and that very vaguely made sense. Why do I get the feeling this is going to be a thing? Like I get why it's gin - it's easier to produce than whisky but the arts connection is tenous. Edinburgh Gin is from Ian Macleod Distillers and it's made 'sort of' in Edinburgh. But yeah, that's a weird tie-in. What's next? Cheese from the Falsetto Sock Puppet Theatre? Maybe they'll do a gin tie in for "A Young Man Dressed as a Gorilla Dressed as an Old Man Sits Rocking in a Rocking Chair for 56 Minutes and Then Leaves" next...
