This weeks sermon on netiquette from our Carrie.
Cant help thinking every time she says "you" in this, she actually means "I".

She literally blocked me for tweeting her if she thanks the bus driver every time he stops the bus. It was the only time I've tweeted her.
Didn't realize I was such a bully...
Also she has time to film this between shows but not do stage door ever on a two show day? I mean.. it's one thing to say you don't want to stage door (completely valid) it's another to excuse it with lies "I don't have time I have to put rollers in my hair" *sigh*
Edit: also how the eff is her coffee shop analogy relevant? she isn't being silent on twitter when all of a sudden people start calling her scum... I mean she says things and blocks anyone that disagrees and doesn't apologize for it (seriously look at her mentions they all start with "I'm so sorry if I offend Carrie, I truly don't mean to but umm maybe I don't agree with this but also I probably will once you explain why I'm wrong I'm so sorry I love you" how on earth is that healthy?)
here is amore appropriate one: imagine your saying something to a very big crowd of passionate listeners (her twitter followers) and amongst hundreds of praising shouts one person disagrees (GASP) maybe even in a snarky way.
what do you do
a. respond to them and start a conversation
b. put a paper bag over their head
SHE AGGRAVATES ME SO MUCH I SWORE I'D STOP GIVING HER THE TIME OF DAY AHHH
and I'm done lol ><

Who is she?

She is Carrie Hope Fletcher, formerly of Les Mis, currently of Chitty tour. Former child star of Chitty, Les Mis and Mary Poppins.
Sister of Tom Fletcher from McFly, who in no way at all influenced her having the career she does. Nope. None whatsoever. Neither did being a child actress allow her to skip years of training and smaller scale productions. Nope.
Oh she's also an author and 'Youtuber'

Oh she's also an author and 'Youtuber' Who just happened to land the same book agent as her sister in law's after the latter suggested the former read her blog... but again- completely by her own merit is she published.. Because she works SO HARD YOU GUYS SO TIRED ALL THE TIME I WORK SO MUCH SO MANY HOURS now I'm done. I swear

I have heard the name, but never seen her in anything.
Not sure what she is like on stage, but pretty irritating in the clip above (though I would never have seen it had I not been on this board).

You're welcome!
I have no idea what she's like on stage, in fairness she has a nice voice but I'm not sure what her acting is like. So I can't fairly comment on that.
I used to be a fan of hers, I enjoyed her youtube channel for a while but I'm growing increasingly irritated by her lack of recognition for the advantages life has given her (the book deals particularly bother me). But despite my slight bitchy post above, I try to give her the benefit of the doubt, after all I'm sure I could be insufferable at 23... except I didn't have a massive platform on which to share my opinions!

The situation's not quite as simple as she makes it out to be. I've seen more than a few cases where someone starts a discussion by posting something they know is contentious and then they block anyone who seems to be winning the resulting argument, because having wound people up they don't want to deal with the fallout.

Now that Carrie has kindly informed me I'm allowed to block people, maybe I shall begin by blocking her.
ShoesForRent you have it spot on. I used to follow Ms Hope Fletcher but had to stop after the torrent of self pity and passive aggressiveness became too much for me. If your followers have to begin every tweet with a disclaimer just to stop you branding it "hate" and setting the lynch mob on them, them you need to reevaluate things.
I've seen Carrie in Les Mis 3 or 4 times (I'm a fan of the show - not her) and I've never seen anybody make as much of a song or dance about stage door or the job as she does. I'm sure you're ridiculously busy darling, but you're living the dream, so please try not to look so blooming miserable about it.
She may well be everyone's favourite YouTuber / author / actress / singer / ambassador for Papa New Guinea, but it's time for her to decide if she wishes to be a top class you know what and be accepted for it, or be lovely and be admired. You don't get to be rude, ungrateful and snarky and have everyone treat you like you're a frizzy, slightly more feminine Gandhi.

AAAAAARRRRGGGHHHHHH! Where to begin. She talks to people as if they're about 5 years old. I'm not going to write much because I could rant for pages about her videos in general. The hideous music in the background though.

To actually address the topic at hand-sometimes it is as simple as 'block' sometimes it's not. Example, this week I was treated to a delightful troll on twitter who was trolling a hashtag I posted in, and after a few amusing exchanges (and some help from friends, Kathryn from the forum included) I made my point in return and blocked the delightful fellow*
I'm a grown-ass woman dealing with anonymous idiots on the internet. That was easy. BUT if I'm a teenage girl (Carrie's main audience) and I'm getting online rubbish from some nasty piece of work at school who everyone else at school follows on twitter, then just blocking them is about as useful as the old 'ignore them and they'll go away' advice. Newsflash from someone who was bullied all through school: it doens't work. That person will still be saying the things, your friends will see it, and it's still not going to go away. There are other ways to deal with cyberbullies but she's dangerously oversimplified it.
Anyway, back to Carrie. I think there is some issue with her 'youtuber' audience crossing over into theatre world and not quite understanding how things work there BUT talking to them like they're all idiots, and acting like she has the most difficult job in the world isn't really endearing her to anyone....
*disclaimer this is obviously not what I called him.

If anything i think these videos have the potential to make things worse. They seem so condescending to me and with the potential to rub people up the wrong way

"cried as soon as you came on" There are performers who give me those "oh no, not her" moments too.

Can't stand this woman. I'm glad she's not in Les Mis anymore, now I can buy tickets for the show again.

Nope, didn't really understand the point of it either.

I couldn't watch that video the full way through. My reaction was more or less "oh shut the f*** up."
Apologies for swearing, I didn't think any other words were suitable.

She's not daft is she. She is making a fortune! Why again did I go to uni? I so wish I had a famous older brother. If this thread were on Twitter, I'm sure she'd have banned it already...

Did you click the "Lets Go Pick A Plan" link? 16 smackers for a couple of teabags and a cardboard bookmark. Clever girl!
